The man walked along a forest road that led him to the slope. Further, the path passed through the meadows and disappeared into the fog of the swamp. Then he reappeared and led to the city, where the traveler planned to stay for a couple of days.
Descending from the slope, a person admired the view, admiring the creation of nature. He breathed in the scents of the meadow, listened to the buzzing of bees and the chirping of birds. Sadness appeared. He wanted to move on, leaving wonderful places.
Approaching the swamp, the traveler stopped. He was afraid of swamps and fog. Knowing his fear, he hesitated and gained courage. The man liked to see what lay ahead of his path. But what was in the fog, he did not know. But further away lay the city to which he was heading.
Overcoming his fear, he entered the fog. The road was visible for ten meters, and the man, fearful, continued on his way. He smelled mud, heard the swamp "breathe", making frightening sounds. His heart stopped with fear when birds flew up nearby. He thought that someone terrible was watching him - a kikimora or a water one.
As he continued on his way, he noticed that the fog thickened and the visibility became less. The road was swamp and his shoes were wet.
But he kept walking, trembling with fear. The man wanted to get into the city, and the horror that he brought up with his inventions about scarecrows made him move faster.
He stopped when he noticed that he was already running down the road. Anger and rage overwhelmed him. He decided to check if it was so dangerous here that he had to rush without looking back? Looking around, the man realized that the only frightened person on this road was himself. The traveler frightened himself so that he rushed through the swamp, not noticing its beauty.
But it is beautiful due to its unique smell, sight, sounds. The man walked more slowly, examining everything that attracted his attention. He was so carried away that he did not notice how he came out of the swamp and found himself close to the city.
He looked back and felt regret. Part of the road he never saw, driven by his fantasies that he would face something terrible. Sighing, the man continued on his way.
