On hearing the pagan Celtic New Year - three nights of Samhain, Christian Christmas, Catholic All Saints' Day, Christmastide between Christmas and Epiphany, Halloween, the Zoroastrian festival of souls Hamaspatmaydiyem, the Hindu festival of Diwali lights, the Mexican Day of the Dead …

Our ancestors, the Slavs, also recorded this dark time and the transition to light in their legends.

Feast of Mokos - The goddess of the clan was celebrated on October 25. On this day, a two-ring round dance was performed, the outer ring of which twisted clockwise - for life, a spiral going up. And the other is twisted counterclockwise - to death, a witch's dance / whirlpool, pulling into the depths.

From M. Woodman's book Passion for Excellence. The Jungian Understanding of Addictions "

According to Slavic tradition the night from October 31 to November 1 is called Veles night, during which the Gates of Navi are wide open to the first roosters in Yav. On this night, the border between the worlds disappears and the Spirits of the ancestors return to their descendants. The fabric of time is sewn together and the past is connected to the present.

The darkest time of the year for all peoples and at all times is a test and therefore there is one immutable rule - on these nights you should not be alone. If you do not participate in mass festivities, then you must stay, at least surrounded by your family. The main thing is that at this time there is someone alive next to you.

The border between the worlds becomes permeable, but the living must remain with the living, and the dead with the dead. This is the key dichotomy and opposition of life and death, from which all others are born, including the opposition of disgusting and beautiful, frightening and joyful, illness and health.

Holidays are holidays, but evil spirits, evil spirits, demons, devils, genies … they constantly walk the earth, move into people's homes, knock from the unconscious, come in dreams and appear in intermediate states of consciousness.

Violence and trauma awaken evil forces and people turn to shamans, priests, psychiatrists and psychologists to drive them back into their traps. Especially early childhood traumas are conducive to obsession and soul theft by representatives of the other world. They are fought with their own methods by specialists appointed by the tribal group, church or professional community.

Deep paradigm psychologists hold the following views:

… there is no such thing as a terrible devil, but there is at least a psychological fact that you might call the devil. You shouldn't look for it, you better create it, and quickly, until it dissolves in your psyche (C. G. Jung).

They do not use a cross, censer, or prayer, and do not prescribe haloperidol, aminanisine, or ECT to neutralize demonic forces. Psychologists deal with lesser demons, the relatively strong egos of their clients, and less advanced forms of possession. They can invite the client to wander through the wilds of the inner forest and make acquaintance with its inhabitants. For a psychologist, any guest from there is important, because he is not accidental and does not want to hide anymore. It is necessary to establish personal relations with him and invite him to cooperate after he is ready for a meeting. But no matter how strong the client becomes, the psychologist's main concern will be to strengthen his I, and not demons or deities. We still have to live in this world.

Where can you start? For example, I often show a diagram like this:

It seems that everything is simple, move clockwise from half past five to meet your happiness, but you immediately discover that a bunch of demons from your unconscious begin to scream and writhe.

I am and this seems to be the first indisputable fact. But not always and not at all. To speak in the first person and express yourself, you need not only to master speech, but also to be clearly aware of your Self. Are you sure that looking at yourself in the mirror, you see yourself there, and not the shadow of your father, mother, grandmother or grandfather, brother or sister who died many years ago?

To want something, to be filled with desire and to express it, you need forces more powerful than the power of the demons of the protectors and the spirits of the guards from your inner prison.

To choose something, you need the experience of distinguishing between your own and someone else's, harmful and useful, love and violence. You need to be able to choose in your favor, and not work for any of the many demons of the tempters.

Deciding requires determination and courage. Or, at least despair readily rush to evil spirits that make you obedient and fearful.

And to do something of your own, you need skills and here hello trainings to neutralize demons who obsessively whisper under the arm, dig holes in front of you and spit in your eyes.

I got the result with satisfaction, relaxed, celebrated in the company of the demons of gluttony and drunkenness, and in the morning the demons of vanity wake you up - "get up quickly, it's time to collect honors and congratulations." Or the demon of death himself will appear - "Well, man, you already had everything, now it's not scary to die." And they die without a funeral, they still walk, but are no longer quite alive with a dead soul.

All we can do is know about the existence of demons. Be not scribes, familiar with demonology theoretically from books big and small. And to know, first of all, your demons with whom you go to bed, whom you see in a dream and with whom you wake up in order to spend the day until the next night.

It is especially important to remember about them on the day of the Winter Solstice, when it gets late and dark early outside.
