Mandala drawing - universal art therapy practice. It can be used for containment and manifestation of feelings, for introspection, for working with states or ordering thoughts, for integrating new experiences (after training, placement, change of occupation).
What is the use of practice?
1. Every day we devote 15-30 minutes to our psychological state (it is possible and more, if there is an opportunity and desire). This time we concentrate completely on ourselves, our feelings and draw a mandala.
2. Drawing a mandala allows you to relax, immerse yourself in your childish state, enjoy the process of drawing and choosing colors. This is the resource part.
3. Freedom of self-expression. We draw with any materials, according to the mood and how it goes from the inside. There are no mandatory forms or requirements. Any format The only rule is to draw a picture in a circle about your condition every day. Suitable for everyone, even those who painted for the last time in 5 years)
4. This practice allows you to safely manifest your deepest processes and symbolically contain them in the closed space of the circle. Unload excess stress, acknowledge it and release it. This is the release and support part.
5. Drawing can be structured with a certain pattern or alternating colors - it helps to collect thoughts if chaos is raging in your head.
6. The mandala can be transformed. Like any art-therapeutic creation, after working with strong feelings, if desired, the work can be modified, transformed, and decorated. When the release from feeling has occurred, a sensation of change may appear and a desire to express this in the drawing, strengthening the effect. For example, in the place of expressed anger, depict flowers, symbolizing the finiteness of one state and the transition to another.
7. While drawing, various thoughts come to mind, which I recommend writing in a freewriting format after drawing. It deepens the inner workings and helps to rethink your processes.
8. Drawing in a group, even online, creates a pleasant supportive background and a sense of belonging. There is an opportunity to exchange thoughts and impressions with the participants.
How to draw a mandala?
1. First you need to draw a circle (you can circle a saucer or plate).
2. Concentrate on your state, choose a color corresponding to it and start drawing from the center….
3. Then continue intuitively, listening to yourself to follow the internal processes.
4. Track your condition and thoughts.
5. After finishing drawing, write down a little about this state.
When is the best time to draw a mandala?
If you draw immediately after waking up, it helps to move from a sleepy to an active state, to streamline thoughts, to let go of states after dreams, to tune in to a new day, to be inspired)
If you paint in the middle of the day, you will feel a kind of "recharge". This pause in the midst of the pulsating rhythm of the day will help restore strength, switch to activities in the afternoon, and feel your desires.
If you prefer to paint before bedtime, this ritual is akin to summing up your day. All tension, joys, bitterness, disappointments, achievements can be expressed here. Then you, as it were, integrate all the experience you have lived during the day, relax and go to sleep more harmonious and free)
How to use the Mandala for yourself?
If you have a REQUEST - what worries at the moment or what is missing - try to draw a Mandala.
1. Title sheet Mandala Solutions, My Happiness, Balance. Think about how comfortable you would be for this title to reflect the query.
2. Draw a circle-outline, this is the field to work with. You can circle a cup or saucer.
3. Focus on the title, immerse yourself in your own feelings about it and draw a mandala.
3. It would be nice to draw small cements or patterns in order to plunge deeper.
4. Then look at the mandala, observe your feelings and thoughts. If ideas come up, write them down on the back.
5. If it's morning - put aside the mandala and go about your business. If it's night, go to bed. Perhaps in the morning there will be more clarity)
In any case, the solution will come to you. From space, through a dream, or by re-looking at a drawing. A request to the unconscious has been sent.
