Remember the parable? About two toads, one of which floundered and knocked butter out of milk, and the other gave up and died.

And now about reality. How long does it take to churn milk into butter? And what speed and power of floundering of toad's legs can do it? By the way, I was not too lazy, and found out that it is 6000 rpm. Even in the era of superheroes stuffed with mercury and other magic, it's hard to imagine. Have you seen an electric toad? Me not.

And here the main question is - would the toads really die in the liquid, although they feel completely normal in the water?

What is it all about? And to the fact that the idea that in any incomprehensible situation flounder, that there is urine - is untrue. Although this imperative is so deeply in the mind that you flounder when you need to and when not. After all, this is the only thing that smart toads who want to live do. And if you translate this metaphor into reality?

Let's take two female toads - Tina and Zoya. Let's say they were both fired from their jobs. Tina began to flounder as much as she could. I wrote hundreds of resumes, sent them to hundreds of employers, and after 10 interviews I found the same job with the same boss, with the same prospects. True, there was absolutely no strength left to work. And it also turned out that Tina was not fired for nothing - she coped poorly, and not because she was a lazy person, but because she burned out and lost all motivation. But since I was busy floundering, I did not have time to notice it. So Tina fell down with a cold and mild depression (let's not aggravate her fate).

Zoya started drinking coffee after being fired. After 12. In a cafe, which I could not go to when I was at work. Zoya blissed out, although she was a little ashamed of her carelessness. She bought paints and went to drawing lessons. No, this is not a magical story in which she became an artist simply because the author so wants. Zoe relaxed and let life flow, watching what she offered her. She met old friends. And at one of the meetings it turned out that her friend was just offering a vacancy about which Zoya fantasized. So, rested and wallowing in paint, Zoya found a job, although it is not yet clear who found whom.

Conclusion number 1: In any incomprehensible situation, look around - what if this is your natural habitat? Then floundering seems even to be a crime against oneself.

Conclusion number 2: After looking around, think - what do you have the strength for? And where to replenish them?

Conclusion # 3: Surrender is sometimes not a bad idea … After all, surrender does not mean losing. Rather, it is a recognition that none of us is a spherical horse in a vacuum, a person is a part of life and its processes. When I flounder vigorously, I live in the illusion that I am alone, and there is nothing and no one around, I live and interact only with my anxiety. It's like swimming, pretending that water doesn't exist. Surrendering to life is about seeing it, feeling and interacting. Surrendering to a partner sometimes means finally seeing him and admitting that he, too, is in this relationship. In such a partnership, there is much more opportunity and pleasure than just out of the head.

Conclusion number 4: Of course, you can choose to flounder. What's next? Am I ready to be popped in a coma of oil?

I will not write here about the notorious awareness, it seems to be a background. Rather, I want to rethink the word surrender - to acknowledge the limitations of control, to see my flow and be embodied in it. Scary, yeah. But very tempting)

Not a single toad was harmed while writing this article.
