The movement of Karpman's triangle is clearly shown in the TV series "Youth".

Kuzma likes the girl. Dinu (Victim) is strongly pressed by brother Cyril (Aggressor). Kirill asks not to give Dina money. But Kuzma (the Rescuer) is touched by a heartwarming story and the guy gives the girl a loan. Kuzma from the Rescuer becomes a Victim because he gets paid. Dina, a former drug addict, is again turning towards a destructive lifestyle.

Kirill treated his sister in a narcological clinic and invested a lot of resources in the recovery of a loved one. Cyril feels like a Victim, because efforts may be in vain. Powerlessness and rage turn Kirill into an Aggressor who threatens Kuzma. The rescuer is already needed by Kuzma, who becomes a double Victim.

There are 3 points in Karpman's triangle: Victim, Aggressor, Rescuer. The participants in the triangle pass through each position in turn: the Rescuer becomes the Victim or the Aggressor.

An example from life.

An elderly woman Evdokia Semyonovna (Victim) suffers from insomnia. The neighbor (Lifeguard) advises sleeping pills. Evdokia Semyonovna thought that there was no need to drink the pill and was trying to swallow it without water. The unpleasant sensations inside are frightening. An elderly woman considers her neighbor to be an Aggressor, who wishes her death and expresses dissatisfaction. The Neighbor from the Rescuer becomes the Victim. And Evdokia Semyonovna from the Victim turns into the Aggressor, attacking the woman who wanted to help.

Another example.

Denis dated a girl and then changed his mind. Denis (Aggressor), girl (Victim). This arrangement does not like the girl's dad (Pursuer).

Denis (already the Victim) asks Semyon (the Rescuer) to have Senya introduce himself as Denis in front of the ex-girlfriend's dad. And he told the Pope (Persecutor) that he would not go to the picnic.

Semyon initially refuses, but gives in to the pressure and helps his friend out.

But who will save Semyon now?

The girl's father (Pursuer) grabs Senya by the collar and shakes him with all his might. Semyon turns from the Rescuer into the Victim.

And Denis becomes the Aggressor, who framed Semyon under attack.

This unpleasant scene is watched by Rita, Semyon's girlfriend. He hears about love affairs and throws a scene of jealousy on Seine. Now Rita is the Aggressor, Semyon is again Victim = victim squared.

Senya does not want to be a Victim and rushes to Denis, who made this mess. Denis turns into a Rescuer, goes to Rita and explains the state of affairs. The situation is resolved.

But this story did not directly concern either Semyon or Rita. And the couple's relationship staggered under the influence of someone else's nightmare.

When you cannot give up a dubious story, it sucks you into the funnel of suffering and chaos.

How to protect yourself from Salvation:

1. Slow down.

2. Don't answer right away. Take some time to think. Since you can break the wood on impulse.

3. Keep boundaries and distance.

4. Learn to say no.

5. Don't feel guilty about your rejection. You have the right to refuse.

6. Do you understand the alignment of the situation itself and the participants? If not, leave, otherwise it will suck.

7. Look at the situation from the outside. Take your time to get inside the situation and become a participant.

8. Believe in the person's ability to deal with the situation on their own. The victim painfully exaggerates his own helplessness. By helping the Victim, you are doing the person a disservice. A person will not cope with a situation that is on the shoulder.

9. The victim manipulatively inflates your omnipotence. It is nice to feel that you are a fine fellow and can cope with a difficult situation. But at the same time you are asserting yourself at the expense of another person. After all, according to his feeling, he cannot cope with it. Unwillingly, you put the other person down. And the Victim will not forgive you for this: the victim will become the Aggressor, and you will become the Victim.

11. Remember that you are not an all-powerful deity. Your resources are limited. You can not help in everything.

12. If you enjoy helping people - choose a helping profession for yourself: nurse, nurse, social worker.
