Desire can be anything, but not a trifle. It is the interface between you and that which is greater than you. No desire is meaningless or irrelevant. If it pulls you along, even if it is barely noticeable, it will raise you to a higher level. Desire lives where the divine principle is. Each desire is of great importance and entails huge consequences, and therefore any of them deserves your attention.

I will give you the most practical reason for clarifying your true desires: you can change yourself and your life every day
To do this, you don't have to quit your job, learn Spanish, master a new meditation practice, or implement a seven-step system in your life. You don't have to call the person who betrayed you ten years ago to sort things out with him. You don't even need to be particularly brave.
In order to feel the way you want as often as possible, it is enough to perform a few simple actions every day to help you enter this state.
One of my main desires is to feel “divinely feminine”. But I'm not going to master belly dancing or draw energy circles of divine femininity in my living room, because I am a) an introvert and b) my life is full to the brim without it. Thinking about what I can do to create a “divinely feminine” state every day, I look for very simple, natural and easy-to-implement ways.
For example, write a very nice or playful SMS to your man. Or reread a chapter from Clarissa Pinkola Estes' book Runner with the Wolves. Or meet a friend in a cafe. Or google the phrase "divine femininity" and save for yourself some of the images of goddesses found on the web. Or buy tickets for the Alanis Morissette concert. On those days when I do not feel amazing and sexy, Kali, Mother, Goddess, charming woman, I can induce a divinely feminine state simply by wearing a skirt instead of pants.
These tiny, sometimes rudimentary ways help me set the mood for the whole day.
I remember one particularly lousy day I felt anything but calm and flow. The account is empty, you have to pay for rent, the phone is silent, and there is not a single new project on the horizon.
What can cheer me up? I thought about it. What will I do when I make money? Buy a sofa with Italian linen upholstery! And then I went to the most snobbish furniture store in the most fashionable area … and warmed my ass on that very couch. I sat on it for ages. “This is what it means to live in a stream,” I thought. And I felt a little better. I saw new opportunities and felt a little more like myself.
Instead of focusing on feeling bad, I shifted focus to fulfilling my desires. And this small but effective trick got me out of my anxiety, enthusiasm and excitement.
Small, deliberate actions, inspired by true desires, create a life that brings you joy.
If you are not feeling the way you want, then the smallest excuse may be enough to change your state.
One of my friends, a freelance writer, made it a rule to do something for people every time she felt like she was missing something. “I pay for dinner with a friend, even if my money is tight or I work without a fee. It opens my heart, and it seems to me that when I show generosity to others, money comes to me much better."
Immerse yourself in the flow of the energy of your desires.

Try to find or create for yourself such external conditions that will match your desired feelings
One friend of mine, if she starts to feel like a rogue, goes for a test drive of new cars. Try to walk through the beautiful homes for sale, even if you can't afford them at all. Or go to an art gallery to plunge into the thick of divine, priceless art. Let the beauty and power take away negative emotions from you.
The basic idea is to do simple, natural things every day that match your true, desired feelings. These small, regular actions will not change your life overnight, but gradually, day after day, they will change it for the better.
