The system of the individual's meanings acts as the main criterion for assessment. It must be remembered that self-esteem performs a number of functions that are necessary for high-quality provision of the human standard of living.
There are several of them:
- Protective - ensuring the relative stability of the individual and her independence.
- Developing - stimulates the personality to develop and improve.
- Reflective (or signal) - displays the real attitude of a person to himself, his actions and actions, as well as allowing to assess the adequacy of his actions.
- Emotional - allows a person to feel satisfaction with their own personality, their qualities and characteristics.
- Adaptation - helps a person to adapt to society and the world around him.
- Predictive - regulates a person's activity at the beginning of an activity.
- Corrective - provides control in the process of performing activities.
- Retrospective - provides an opportunity for a person to evaluate his behavior and activities at the final stage of its implementation.
- Motivating - encourages the person to act to gain approval and positive self-esteem reactions (self-satisfaction, development of self-esteem and pride).
- Terminal - makes a person stop (stop activity) if his actions and deeds contribute to the emergence of self-criticism and dissatisfaction with himself.
- Regulatory - ensures the acceptance of tasks by the individual and the choice of decisions.
Why do you need to know this? First of all, to understand what is the real reason for feeling unwell !!! The second point is to maximize the restoration of the function that is impaired, to improve the quality of your life !!! And only after that do certain actions to improve it !!!
The work algorithm looks like this:
- In order to increase your self-esteem, first you need to understand which of the functions is less satisfied and only after that direct all your efforts towards its full recovery.
- For this to work 100%, you need to do it yourself, so that the power of faith in yourself increases and creates the experience of success.
- You do not need to do something global, small steps are enough, so it is more likely that you will achieve what you want.
- Be sure to thank yourself for the performed robot, since you will be able to appreciate yourself. And besides you, few people are likely to appreciate your work. Therefore, to be noticed, start noticing yourself !!!
- If you want to share your successes and become understood and heard, then it is advisable to do this with those people who will surely support and praise you, let your self-esteem be fueled and become stable, not downtrodden and buried alive.
- And most importantly - Believe in yourself. If you think that thanks to someone you will increase your self-esteem, then this is not so !!! The one who has endowed you with confidence can take what he gave you with interest (and already your patron will become your cut). So be the owner of your life and changes in it will not keep you waiting !!!
