Psychologist, psychotherapist associate many people with some kind of difficulties, unresolved problems, or "something is not with me", or "it is difficult for my loved ones, I want to get rid of …".

Advice, turn to a psychologist, can cause resistance, discontent, aggression.

In my opinion, this is one of the kindest and most caring advice. Why?

We take care of our body, but we do not care about our emotional state. When we are sick, it is justified. We may not go to work, not overwork, relieve ourselves of some responsibilities in the family, receive the care and attention of loved ones. But we do not notice that we could not go to work for a long time. Emotionally we were devastated. Our battery gave us a signal to switch to "save mode" or "10% charge left."

We take care of the body, give it healthy food, vitamins, take it to the resort, try to monitor its appearance. Going to a psychologist is as much about taking care of yourself as quality food, body hygiene, clean clothes, and buying medicines during illness. Psychotherapy is the hygiene of the internal state: emotions, feelings, experiences.

We come to the psychologist already in a strain, when it is absolutely impossible to cope. This is tantamount to something as if something hurt you, periodically ached, but you were afraid to go to the doctor and have already arrived at the very last time when the pain is unbearable. Accordingly, the treatment is much more complicated, time-consuming and more expensive. If you came to the doctor earlier, you would take preventive measures and not suffer from severe pain. The same happens with the psychologist. If you regularly, once or twice a month, prophylactically come to a psychotherapist, then there will be no situation from which you do not see a way out and feel powerless.

Why does our body get sick? Because his mental part is "sick". According to the WHO charter, "health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not only the absence of disease and physical defects." Now consider whether you are paying attention to mental and social well-being. Does the leveling of these states affect your physical well-being?

When we talk about diseases of the body, we must understand that each ailment has its own benefit. Through illness, our body speaks to us, which consists not only of organs, but also of feelings and emotions. I believe that ailments are an SOS signal, it is a sign for us that we should have stopped taking on more than we can long ago; sacrifice your own interests; be good boys and girls; endure what is contrary to our values; infringe on their own interests, etc.

I chose to feel unwell as a way to indulge myself and attract attention. And at that moment, when I discovered this mechanism inside myself, I did not launch it. I asked myself the question: “What is behind this, what do I really want? . Since then, for me, mental health is health! And you need to pay attention to it.

I wrote this not because I myself am a psychotherapist. My life became better, more conscious and healthier when a psychotherapist, therapy and everything related to psychology appeared. For me, the best self-care is taking care of what is inside of me. When there is harmony inside, what is outside is also harmonious.
