In the presented work, the peculiarities of interpersonal relations of adults were studied, as well as the peculiarities of their perception of relations with parents in childhood.

A total of 100 people took part in the study (50 men and 50 women).

Studied: interpersonal relations of students (methodology for diagnostics of interpersonal relations ("OMO") V. Schutz; methodology for interpersonal diagnostics of interpersonal relations ("DME") T. Leary (adapted by LN Sobchik)); subjective experiences of childhood (questionnaire "Childhood. Events, parent-child relationships and subjective experiences" by M. V. Galimzyanova; test questionnaire of reflected parental attitude ("OORO") by A. Ya. Varg and V. V. Stolin, modified by E. V. Romanova and MV Galimzyanova; questionnaire "Adult about parents" (modified test - questionnaire ADOR "Behavior of parents and attitude of adolescents to them" Z. Mateychek, P. Richan, abbreviated - "Adolescents about parents")).

To date, many researchers have studied the relationship of children and adolescents with their parents, as well as the influence of parental attitudes and parenting style on them. However, the study of interpersonal relationships of adults in connection with the perception of relationships with parents has not received sufficient attention.

The results of the study suggest that a sense of acceptance, respect for individuality on the part of parents in childhood can contribute to the emergence of a person's desire for interpersonal interaction. Whereas the experiences associated with leaving the father's side in childhood can hinder the emergence of students' desire to enter into interpersonal interaction with other people.

Experiences associated with broken trust in relationships with the mother, variability and inconsistency in parenting practices on the part of the father in childhood can contribute to the emergence of men's desire to control people and events.

The experiences of women associated with criticism and unfair treatment on the part of the mother in childhood can probably hinder the emergence of the desire of women to enter into interpersonal relationships with other people.

Thus, the results of the study allow us to conclude that the perception of relationships by parents in childhood, preserved in the memory of students, play an important role in the formation of interpersonal relationships with other people.
