Every morning we wake up and our thoughts wake up with us. Before we even have time to lift our heads out of bed, we scroll through what needs to be done today, how to get the children to school, how to overcome shyness and ask for a raise at work, etc.
And of course thoughts immediately create feelings and emotions, and now you go into the bath with irritation. And then on the knurled, word for word, the children do not obey, the husband is in no hurry, and the irritation grew and went to work with you.
It happens that we argued with someone, did not restrain ourselves, or restrained ourselves and did not give a proper rebuff, and then for a few more days we scroll through what we could say to the offender, or we twist thoughts about who and what he thinks of us.
So who really controls our moods, emotions and feelings? Are we ourselves or …?
Or the mind that creates thoughts for us, thoughts that we spin and so often cannot stop this thought mixer in our head?
So who's the boss? A mind that wanders where it wants and offers thoughts that are not pleasing? Or you, a person who can succumb to the tales of the mind, or can choose his own thoughts that he wants to think.
Instead of fears, and what will happen, choose not to allow thoughts about the future, which you do not like, because the future is still unknown, so why allow unnecessary doubts into it.
Instead of thinking, and what others thought of me, to stop and not think out, we cannot know the thoughts of others.
Instead of thoughts that spoil the mood, cause irritation, feelings of guilt, fears, choose thoughts that will cheer up, raise self-esteem, create a desire to move forward, and not give up.
Things to do on the way to managing your thoughts:
1. Decide for yourself who is my master - me or my thoughts. Make an informed choice in favor of yourself. Take it for granted that if I am the master of my thoughts, then I choose what to think, what, when and whether to think anything at all.
2. Begin to master the redirection of thoughts at the point. When a thought that you don't like has already penetrated, track this moment, change your thoughts, and start thinking a new productive thought.
3. Stop identifying yourself with your thoughts. We are not our thoughts.
4. Learn to concentrate our thoughts on what we are doing. Instead of thinking about what to cook for dinner while brushing your teeth, thinking about your teeth, that they become healthier, cleaner, and make you happy with whiteness.
Thoughts are just a structure of the mind, based on some experience, sometimes ours, sometimes someone else's, just heard somewhere, often this is an experience from childhood, and now we reproduce it in thoughts that are simply used to thinking in a certain way.
But, if we understand that we can control our thought process, then we can ourselves introduce thoughts into the mind that are beneficial to us. Thoughts about health, wealth, adequate self-esteem, dignity and self-worth.
Thought control is not an easy process, especially at the beginning of the path, because the mind is a reflex organ, and if it is accustomed to certain thoughts, then it sees them as one existing reality. But there are as many realities as there are people. We can create our own reality and retrain the mind to think with the thoughts we need. Essentially, train your mind.
If a person strives for efficiency in life, for his goals and dreams, then such an ally as the mind will help him a lot, because with our thoughts we can both lower ourselves if we focus on our mistakes, and raise ourselves, concentrating even on small ones, but their victories, best character traits.
Choose your thoughts as carefully as you choose clothes in the closet. After all, you want to look beautiful and comfortable, so thoughts can bring us both joy and suffering. It's simple, it's just a matter of choice.
