There is a certain scheme to deceive the population: for example, a night call "Mom, I had an accident, I am scared, Mom! Bring 5 thousand dollars." Or the "Nigerian letter" included in the annals: "My name is Kokojabwe Magumba, I am the widow of a politician, you are an honest person, and I ask you to help take my 12 million from a Swiss bank." Or the image of a "real colonel" who has gone through fire and water, "an old soldier who does not know the words of love", who has a combat friend in distant Kryzhopol, who at one time saved him from a burning tank (but some 3 thousand dollars will save a combat friend, as usual). And the swindler stupidly sells this scheme to everyone who falls within his reach.

The basic principle of deception is not quality, but quantity. The more calls, the more chances that at least one elderly woman will recognize the voice of a "son" in the drunken baritone of a Mordovian prisoner and will break into the specified place with the specified amount. The more emails, the higher the likelihood of bumping into a newbie on the Internet who has not yet heard of branded Nigerian spam. The more women a "real colonel" drives up to, the more guaranteed success. For 1 luck, a swindler has a huge number of empty moves, but they do not embarrass him and do not discourage him, just as they are not embarrassed by the refusals of an experienced "cold" salesperson. Sooner or later, it will bite anyway.

The swindlers "bite" again, not because the victims are somehow different, but because the scenarios have overlapped. There is nothing complicated in this, no higher mathematics and esoteric psychology. What woman would rush into the night to rescue a "crashed" son? Of course, the one who: a) has a son; b) currently not at home; c) having something to do with driving (if the son basically does not buy a car, because he does not want to drive, doubts will already arise), and even better - the owner of the car; d) convinced that the mother's duty is to solve the problems of an adult child, and to solve it not according to the law, but according to concepts ("agree"). Remove at least one component of the script - and you will get a lot of stories walking on the Internet like "He says to me" Mom, I had an accident "- and I laugh out loud, because I have only a daughter of five years old, and she sleeps in the next room" … And what woman would be seduced by a "real colonel"? Only the one in whose consciousness this very image is an erotic trigger. If a woman falls for, say, highbrow intellectuals, our colonel will bother with his face in vain - such a woman can only be fooled by a swindler who will just look like a highbrow intellectual:). But this will be a different character - not the "colonel".

At the same time, the apparent simplicity of deception schemes should not give rise to illusions of invulnerability: each person has his own scenario, and anyone can be in the role of a victim. People are deceived not because they are stupid or imperfect, but because law enforcement agencies work badly, and marriage swindlers, along with telephone breeders, walk along the sidewalks, and do not warm bunks with tattooed backs. But that's another topic.
