IMAGINE: You came to a store to buy clothes.

Naturally, you have a choice:

  • it's in vogue now;
  • in this Masha was at a party yesterday;
  • it's not fancy, buttoned up and that's it. So what, what looks like a bag?
  • but this is the most expensive / cheapest - I take it!

You begin to try on all this stuff - but it is not at all. It doesn't sit on you, you don't like the color, the size is too small, and it costs so much that you will have to sit on one buckwheat for 2 weeks.

But all the same - take it! Why, one wonders? BECAUSE:

  • it's in vogue now;
  • in this Masha was at a party yesterday;
  • it's not fancy, buttoned up and that's it.
  • and this is the most expensive / cheapest - I take it!

BUT, nowhere in these arguments does it sound:

  • I LIKE this color very much;
  • I WANT this dress, I feel feminine;
  • I'm soooo COMFORTABLE in these jeans!

It's a bit strange to choose all clothes not according to internal appeals, but according to external criteria, right?

So WHY do we do this so often with a more important decision - a profession?

  • I will go to study, because the profession is popular;
  • Vasya enrolled as a journalist and I went there;
  • I'll go to a psychologist - there is no mathematics, you just say to yourself, that's all the work.

This happens more often than we think.

A bit of platitude, but "know thyself" has not ceased to be the basis. To understand what clothes to buy, you need to understand what to like, what is comfortable / uncomfortable, how much you can count on. It's the same with the profession.

So, WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT YOURSELF before choosing a profession:

1. Stereotypes - where are my thoughts? What am I thinking because "that's what they say"? What beliefs are mine, and which ones are taken by me from the family system? Many prejudices are the product of little awareness. Before making a conclusion - check. You make your decision more conscious and broaden your horizons - two birds with one stone!

2. Interests - what do I want? Analyze your hobbies, favorite / disliked school subjects, games, how you spend your time now. For each item, ask yourself the question: Why? Analyze.

3. Abilities - what can I do? My intellectual, physical, social skills. To do this, ask yourself the question: What am I good at? Specify for each item: Due to what? Analyze.

4. Personal qualities - what am I? This is character, psychotype, temperament (these are all different things:)). Self-observation, psychological diagnostics, and the study of literature are ideal for this. Understand what your comfortable life is like.

5. Motives and values - what drives me? and what is valuable to me? This is what you start thinking about when you stop worrying about survival. These are my views on life, what motivates / demotivates me, my beliefs. Introspection, exercise, and diagnosis will help you explore this.

Create a map where write the above points. Summarize. Draw conclusions. And now make a decision.

Choose a life in accordance with your desires, and may happiness be with you!
