Anorexia is a deliberate, systematic refusal to eat for weight loss and control, leading to physical exhaustion and psychological impairment. Every year, more and more often you can meet men and women suffering from anorexia. Modern fashion standards especially affect women, but, to the surprise of many, men are also susceptible to this disease. According to statistics, there are four women for every man with anorexia.

There can be many reasons for anorexia, I will list some:

- You live in an economically developed society. All modern benefits, high social activity are available to you;

- You strive to correspond to the generally recognized social ideals (albeit false), which are imposed by society, the media, fashion;

- Psychological trauma (emotional upheaval, deprivation in early childhood, violence, sexual development disorders);

- Unrealization in life, excessive demands on oneself and the world, excessive modesty, indecision, low self-esteem;

- Systematic family problems, painful relationships with loved ones;

- Malnutrition in childhood, unreasonable adherence to a diet in childhood.

Many do not recognize or try in every possible way to justify their anorexia. Perhaps if they paid attention to some of the signs, it would help to start fighting this disease. If you notice in yourself or a loved one:

- constantly think about diet;

- terribly afraid to gain extra grams;

- exhaust yourself with starvation (exercise, emetics and laxatives);

- constant psychological discomfort when eating food (in extreme cases, even just at the sight of food);

- groundless anxiety, aggressive behavior, obsessive-compulsive manifestations.

You may have anorexia. And, perhaps, you need qualified help.

The consequence of anorexia is not only simple weight loss, but also:

- Metabolic disease;

- Improper functioning of the endocrine system;

- Disorders of the digestive system;

- Weakening of immunity and the development of chronic diseases;

- Psychological disorders.

Most often, the foundations of anorexia were laid in early childhood - in the first year of life. And usually this is associated with a violation of the psycho-emotional contact of the child with the mother. If the mother blames her child for various problems; feels the very feeling of guilt or tries to pass it on to her baby when feeding; overfeeds the child to such an extent that he becomes ill.

It is very difficult for a person with anorexia to admit to himself and others in the presence of this ailment. In psychoanalysis, the task is not set to quickly save a person from anorexia, because this is only a symptom and the reason lies much deeper. If you treat only anorexia, then it will be - "war on the shadow." When one symptom disappears, another symptom will appear. The analyst and the patient strive to understand the inner problems that lead a person to nutritional problems. This will allow you to emotionally relive traumatic events of the past and gain new experience in relationships with yourself and the outside world.

If it is not possible (for various reasons) to consult a specialist, then these recommendations will allow you to start fighting anorexia on your own:

- try to compensate for your anxiety about weight and food with your favorite hobbies;

- eat right, the diet should be aimed at improving the condition of the digestive system and general condition, and not weight regulation;

- love yourself more, take care of your psychological state and physical;

- pamper yourself, look for more joy in life;

- feel free to ask for help and support from your loved ones in the fight against anorexia.

If you need help and support to cope with anorexia, I am ready to help you.
