Currently, the coronavirus pandemic has dramatically changed our lives. Psychologists have gone online very much, and once it seemed absolutely impossible. Tutors work great online. Even some fitness trainers conduct classes remotely. It is still not possible for massage therapists to do massage online, but I am sure they are thinking in this direction.

The Moscow government has obliged employers to transfer at least 30% of employees to telecommuting.

All office employees of the company I work for have been working remotely since April 2020. Warehouse employees who need to accept products, arrange them into cells, then collect orders, pack, draw up documents and send them by a transport company, of course, are physically present at work.

What are the advantages of telecommuting for an employer?

Savings on office rent and maintenance. You can leave a small part of the office space, where, if necessary (and according to the schedule), employees can come to work, hold department meetings or meetings with clients.

You can hire employees from different cities of Russia, not only from Moscow, but also our compatriots living abroad.

If the employees are properly selected, trained, motivated, then the difficulties with the management of the company, in general, do not arise. But individual cases of "leaving the radar" are possible - the immediate supervisors of these "pilots" must deal with them.

Meetings with employees are conducted using the zoom, which is convenient and efficient. It is convenient to use the screen sharing function.

It becomes easy and not costly to communicate with decision makers, with customers, suppliers, even foreign ones, to meet with whom you had to either go, fly, or invite them to your place.

Oddly enough, at a distance, people work longer, do not turn off the computer at exactly 17 o'clock and do not run in the subway or behind the wheel in order to slip into big traffic jams. They often work of their own free will for the good of the company even after the main working hours.

Of the minuses, I will name the deficit of live communication between employees, which can be filled either by meetings of the department in the office once a week, or by the same communication by zoom.

Pros and cons for employees

pros

For Muscovites and, especially, for residents of the Moscow region, working in Moscow - saving time and money for travel. This is up to 3 hours a day. Plus 3 hours to your love life. This is cool!

There is a lot of saved time when you can chat with your loved one, take care of children, do your hobbies, learn something, for example, improve your English, etc., take a walk, do fitness, chat with friends.

There are more opportunities to find a job, including not in your city.

Those who have a summer residence can go to live outside the city and enjoy nature before, after work, as well as during lunch break and on weekends.

You can leave with your family and live for a month at the sea and work from there.

Nonresidents who rented apartments in Moscow have left to live in their cities, saving on rent.

Minuses

"Two bears in one den". This is someone who has a cramped apartment, and both spouses work remotely. Still suddenly a plus and a son-student or a schoolboy at a distance?

When children do not go to kindergarten, to school, and sit on your head. And you have an important zoom meeting. Or a very small child who finds it difficult to explain that his mother is working, and is not allowed to see her now, but he is torn and cries.

As a result of such close communication between parents and children, when everyone stays at home for a long time, dissatisfaction with each other, irritation, quarrels, conflicts can grow.

Irregular working hours. And this is often not because the employer insists on it, but because you are "fond of" work, you do not need to rush home, you are already at home, why not work at your favorite job?

Lack of live communication, the usual cute office chatter, flirting, finally.

For women, there is a very big minus - there is nowhere to "walk" a new dress, shoes, to demonstrate a beautiful tan.

"Dangerous" proximity to the refrigerator, lack of movement, unused calories and, as a result, weight gain.

Well, a common plus for everyone is that the danger of contracting coronavirus is significantly reduced.

What pros and cons do you see?
