What is “integrity”?

Integrity is an integrative concept that provides a balance between the physical, social and spiritual realms of an individual.

That is, integrity implies the presence and unity of three facets of personality: "I am physical" (acceptance of my body and all its bodily manifestations), "I am social" - acceptance of my belonging to the social context of life, as well as my ability to reproduce itself, and “I am spiritual” - acceptance of one's spiritual essence.

Integrity is the internal unity of the personality, all its components, which, in turn, do not just add up together, but being in the process of constant interaction with each other, can affect certain features of each of them.

An example of a person's mental and physical integrity is the fashionable concept of "psychosomatics". The first part of this concept "psycho" is translated from Greek as "soul", and "soma" means body. And psychosomatics is nothing more than the interaction of the human psyche and his corporeality. And psychosomatic diseases just arise when there is a certain imbalance in this integrity or when the soul is "sick".

The integrity of emotions, feelings and experiences is another perspective from which these concepts can be studied.

After all, only then it makes sense to talk about the wholeness, the integrity of the personality, when she is able to understand, accept and respect all her emotions and feelings, even if some of them are considered negative.

Fear, hope, falling in love, interest, discontent, anger, tenderness, pity, shyness, jealousy, pride, inspiration, disgust, empathy, gratitude … All these and many other feelings make our personality, our life filled with reactions and meanings. They make it colorful, interesting, whole.

And one should definitely not be afraid of one's “negative” feelings, because they not only allow “positive” experiences to shine brighter, but also carry a huge potential resource for our further development and self-improvement.

After all, as they say, “there is a hidden desire in every fear of ours”!..

Why do we need this integrity?

A holistic person, firstly, sincerely believes in his capabilities and achieves what he wants; secondly, she trusts herself, her desires and decisions; thirdly, she accepts herself with all her "pluses" and "minuses", which makes her even stronger and more creative; and, finally, she allows herself to show true feelings, hence her openness to herself and the world.

Harmony to you and inner integrity!
