Today the living space is shrinking, the possibilities of communication and movement are diminishing. And suddenly it becomes clear how pleasant it was to walk along a crowded street to sit in a cozy cafe, to be delighted with an unexpected meeting and kiss without fear of anything. I even want to go to work. All this was quite recently, and now it is not. We do not see what is good until we are deprived of it. Deserted streets, masks …

There can be nothing good about it. We habitually focus on difficulties and troubles. There is a reasonable explanation for this: problems must be solved because they threaten us in the future. Mobilization is a natural mechanism that needs to be trained from time to time in order to be in good shape. But for many, it becomes a lifestyle and a real nightmare. The world is presented only in dark colors. The most difficult test a person invents himself. When really hard times come, we remember how good it was, but then it was still bad, because we did not notice this good, focusing on the problems. We fall out of time, plunging into thoughts, and there are no feelings, there are strange constructions of anxiety and fears. This is noticeable on birthdays. They, like the boundary pillars of time, mark the boundaries of what did not happen, because you were not there. A man celebrates his thirtieth birthday by remembering opportunities that he did not take advantage of five years ago. Time does not return, every day is unique. Now, quarantine, and again gloomy thoughts.

There are not many dangers in modern life. However, the natural mechanism of anxiety starts their search out of the blue. Anxiety and fear begin to control attention. Already: "everything is bad" "we will all die" … Thoughts and groans, this is just your attitude to what is happening. It is always subjective. Danger requires action, and fear is a reaction to danger. What is in the head and what is in reality do not always coincide. The more anxious the person is, the greater the discrepancy.

A crisis is always an opportunity. Today's unusual situation can help you look at some aspects of your life differently. Maybe you should take a closer look at your relationships with loved ones. Many suddenly realized that it was difficult, and there was nothing, at times, to communicate with a husband or wife, and it was impossible to escape from work. Usually not up to feelings, things have to be done. There is a time to get almost forgotten desires from the far corners of your consciousness, and suddenly, it can be done right now. A pause in the rhythm that you don't notice because you're used to it? What do you enjoy? What little joys are there in your life? Look, listen, feel. Switch your attention to what surrounds you, and you will see many interesting things and processes from which you can get positive emotions.

You can protect yourself from danger by action, it is not difficult. Learning to control attention, and, therefore, your thoughts, is more difficult. When there is nothing else to do, do something that your hands did not reach - yourself, this is a good investment, then the difficulties of self-isolation and in general all problems will take the place that they should: in the bureaucratic queue as they arrive.
