I noticed on the channels of "psychologists / psychotherapists" by the number of views of videos and requests in the comments that the key point is the expectation of a quick, almost instantaneous, own transformation. "How to Get Rid of Shame", "How to Fall in Love with a Man", "How to Become a Real Woman" …

There was a man - insecure, facing a difficult choice, confused, immersed in complex reflections, with a loser complex … And suddenly all this disappeared, as if he had thrown off his coat, and another appeared in the world - full of ambition, energy, inner upsurge. And, most importantly, with the conviction that reality can be changed in an instant - you just need to focus on the goal and believe in it, and also learn to control your feelings and manage emotions - and then everything in life will come true.

Such an attitude is a compensation for a long wait for changes in personal life with a hidden fear that, perhaps, there will be no changes: there are no tools, no skills, no prospects, and even a glimmer of hope. A person is already tired of himself, of his environment, family environment and the lack of positive dynamics, even if he is afraid to admit it to himself. And then he turns to the conventional "psychologist / psychotherapist" who promises instant relief from insecurity or shame.

However, in fact, the proposed practice of instantly changing oneself and one's feelings / emotions is a form of a person's abandonment of himself. But if a person wants to abandon himself because he has become boring and even disgusted with himself, the question arises: who will become the consumer of his “I”?..

In defense of the "psychologist / psychotherapist" we can say that the situation in the country, television, social networks are also built on the principle of consuming "I", delegating and handing over the subject to an external carrier, which promises instant relief from toxic feelings.

Social reality in the era of coronavirus has become completely unclear, uncertain. It lacks a clear perspective. Plans for the coming year have collapsed. At the same time, the moment of uncertainty does not contain the feeling of freedom that is familiar to the hunter or traveler who feel the exciting excitement of the unknown waiting around the bend.

The current uncertainty is devoid of such an upsurge. The situation no longer makes a person a player. She extinguishes his impulses, crushes him. He cannot use the moment of general instability to build his own strategies or change the direction of his activity. Nobody mobilizes him to move in a column, but he also does not provide equipment to move in a free search. There comes a moment of confusion, reflection: what next?

Unlike the practices of traditional cultures, which take a long time to achieve tangible results, learning to "trick" is fast. "Do you want me to show you the reception?" - asked in childhood. Once - sweep, and you are on the ground.

Rapid change specialists are not suggesting a practice, a school, or a tradition, but a short, spectacular operation. Here are just the promise of instant transformation, maybe it will save you from the burdens of waiting, will give little. Knowledge of the "technique" gets rid of the knowledge of the truth about oneself.

This differs from traditional culture and generally far from psychotherapy and its possibilities. Why has tradition now dropped out of the focus of attention? Because in the modern situation, a person feels himself eternally lagging behind, as if life rushes by, like a train. Tradition does not keep pace with technology and does not find the language to respond to the current reality.

In other words, the desire for quick change shows that we are like this: simple creatures who are drawn to simple solutions as the last hope. Off course, confused, ridiculous, we seek consolation. Therefore, it is easy to pick us up, and whether a popular blogger or a YouTube channel presenter will do it is not so important.

In fact, you can change yourself, and modern methods of psychotherapy are successful in this. But this work is a long and systematic work of the soul. First, you learn to understand yourself (it takes two years), then you experience traumas and painful feelings for your parents (another five years), and only then, when you become stable and more conscious, you can change both your character and your reaction to reality.

Psychotherapy is a good practice of self-recognition. This is a research process, and when you understand yourself more and better, then the process itself has not only meaning - but the most important thing is a lot of pleasure from a qualitative change in your life!

“In the therapeutic process, we walk and walk the circle of our patient's life - from the past to the present and back to the past. And each new turn opens up new memories, his feelings, past events and their connection with the patient's current behavior and his current situations. When the loop is complete, the result is deeper awareness, deeper feelings, and a higher level of energy. And he enters a new round with more energy and greater awareness. The gradual expansion of these circles is the growth of the personality due to the expansion of his being. And this process never ends. It is impossible to work through all the problems and all the muscle clamps. You can heal the wounds caused by traumatic life events, but the scars remain. We cannot return to our original state of innocence. There will always be some restrictions on our being. The human being is an imperfect animal and an incomplete deity. However, the body's ability to maintain arousal, especially sexual arousal, and the body's ability to release this arousal through pleasure, especially through orgasm, can be greatly improved.”
