Fear will go away sooner or later and neurochemical reactions will change as you learn to acknowledge it. The basis for recognizing fear is verbalization, i.e. decide (give a definition, name) and speak out loud.
What's important here:
1. To give a definition means to get out of the state of anxiety, when we cannot say exactly what we are afraid of - this is anxiety and it has only one tendency - to grow! As soon as you name and define, tension stagnates. It would also be aerobatics to name the functions of this fear, i.e. what is he for, what thanks to him you do or do not do.
2. In our culture there is a ritual or belief that by saying something bad aloud you will surely bring this bad on yourself, that is, it will come true. The most interesting thing is, the longer this bad thing is in your head, the more chances it will come true. Because being constantly in this tension, endlessly playing this "changing gum" in your head, you increase the degree of tension boiling, and in order to reduce it, we unconsciously decide to embody this "bad, scary" scenario in order to reduce the degree of tension. As soon as you say it out loud, live it or react, your psyche will let go of this fear.
After all, fear itself does not increase the tension; it is a "constant unit." It is much more unbearable to control your fear, constantly increasing its importance, increasing the tension of your nervous system.
- name your fear, give a definition, describe it, - describe your feelings and sensations, - tell yourself the worst ending of this fear and try on it, i.e. live in it virtually (it's safe)
Of course, there are fears that are unrealistic to work through on your own. Such fears are based on the distant experience of childhood and the reasons are protected by all possible psychological defenses, and this is a matter of working with a specialist. But there are fears and anxieties that can be worked out in this way.
