Have you ever wondered what time our children live? Parents are increasingly split into two camps in their attitude to the modern environment of child development. Some say that it used to be better and education was of better quality, while others practically “clap their hands” because of how quickly, swiftly and qualitatively the world is changing in our favor.

Children, of course, cannot have a choice and opinion on this matter. They live today and, unlike us, learn to adapt to modern realities, practically from the cradle …

No matter how much controversy there may be about gadgets and modern household appliances that children master, tablets, phones, computers are still a way of highly efficient mastering of even greater technologies. And in the conditions of a new social order, it is very important to be on good terms with technology.

According to numerous statistics, 12-15% of current professions will completely disappear in the next 15-20 years. You can be frightened by such numbers or think that scientists are again inventing something for themselves, but just go to a hypermarket with self-service checkouts and it becomes clear in which directions we are moving. This means that literally 10-15 years later, society will need those people who can maintain the equipment or "robots", if you like. Do I still need to explain why a child may need acquaintance with technology?

But, if with regard to tablets, phones and other gadgets for many parents the situation is somehow understandable (since the parents themselves are forced to master more and more new possibilities of the Internet and gadgets), then it is still difficult with other aspects of the modern world …

If we ask those debaters about modernity to "pack up their tents" and set up camp again, but already regarding the issue of early childhood development, then we will see two camps again. Some will persistently assure that any development of a child in addition to school and kindergarten will exclusively harm him, while others will assure that they are ready to send their children to all possible circles. But, the truth, as you know, is somewhere in between.

Probably, this is why disputes arise in such questions that it is difficult to determine the golden mean: what a child should master and at what age. And what about his natural craving for dancing, music or playing with a screwdriver? In this case, parents should know and feel their child very well.

First of all, you should yourself, as a parent, answer a number of questions:

  • When and how does my child get tired? After what kind of stress - physical or intellectual? Is the child able to recover after this, or does such a load affect his immunity (after that, the child is sick)?
  • What is the child's desire for more? Technique, drawing, modeling, construction, dancing, singing, sewing, etc.? Can I create the necessary ground for the development of this skill at home or will I need the help of sections (circles)?
  • What does the child often ask / talk about (relevant for children aged 4-7 years)?
  • What does the teacher or educator notice in the child's behavior?
  • What is the opinion of relatives and friends about the child's abilities?

Whatever it was, sections have the right to exist, but if the parent answers the above questions sensibly. It is due to the groups of early development and the abundance of sections available to most parents for money our modern children become happy owners of a wide outlook.

It should be noted that it is very cool when parents treat their child's activities not as a banner that the child should proudly carry on the road to old age, but as a development. In this regard, the question of whether it is normal to change 15-20 sections for the entire period of a child's childhood ceases to exist. After all, how great it is when a growing person has a wide range, albeit not the deepest, but quite valuable knowledge that he can apply in his future activities.

Another pleasant feature of the modern world for children, which more often concerns residents of larger cities (although, "Trend" boldly walks through different countries in small cities) is a large platform for the development of children's communication skills. And in your childhood there was such an abundance of affordable children's playrooms, health groups in fitness centers, an abundance of free holidays (New Year, Shrovetide) with wide festivities and the possibility of children's communication, free master classes in cafes, shopping centers? All this is not just "fun" and interesting, but also allows children to communicate with each other by practicing a variety of conversation techniques in different social situations! And you probably know how important it is nowadays to have a wide range of communication skills. And about the sore "empathy" you can no longer even stutter.

Another reason for the high level of development of modern children in comparison with their parents is the greater availability of interactive sites. Interactive Science Museums, Interactive Music Museums, Interactive Chocolate Museums, Cooking Workshops, Interactive Robotics Exhibitions - that just doesn't happen in many cities. You yourself understand what the benefit is. You can tell a girl two hundred times a day how “it is important to learn how to cook (and especially borscht, because“when she comes out for aaaamuzh”…)”, or you can send her to a place where she will love cooking next to her peers, it will be really interesting for her, which means that it does not matter where and how she will cook in the future, but this process will become less labor-intensive for her, but more enjoyable. You ask, what about “touching (contact) zoos? In this case, such an interactive platform also favorably develops on our children in the form of the development of empathy (they returned to it again), the ability to take care of animals and others. And, in general, communication with animals is always beneficial, at times, even has a healing effect on children! The healing properties of communication with dolphins and horse riding have been known and confirmed for a long time …

There are indeed very, very many conditions for our children to become “brilliant” or simply highly educated in the future. But, sometimes, the parents feel despair because yesterday a talented boy, today at the age of 14-16, refuses to study, complaining about the hardships of school education. Here, each specific parent should conduct a confidential, warm, friendly a conversation in which he will not only try to explain the need to graduate from school and acquire a secondary specialized or higher education, but he will also hear the needs and goals of his teenager himself !!!

As the extensive practice of child and adolescent psychologists shows, adolescents are not just “highly gifted lazy people”. Here, just, it is probably worth attracting a specialist if it is impossible to establish contact with a teenager. It is much more correct to think about competent contact with your child as early as possible..
