Currently, the cult of eternal childhood is supported by films, games and advertisements. People sincerely think growing up is bad. Now they have such an interesting life, they consider themselves interesting and bright personalities, so the image of a reasonable “adult” who has taken responsibility is simply terrible for them. And this is said openly! Why is this happening? Is it such a "fashion for infantilism"? Or is it that media content is aimed at children and adolescents?
Let's understand this topic. It is likely that the target audience of the media content is children and adolescents. However, it is difficult to judge this unequivocally. For example, on social networks, “I’m a mother” sounds at every step (“I am a mother of two beautiful children”, “I was lucky to be a mother of two (or three - not so important) children”). This "motherhood" today has become something deified, accordingly, mothers strive to do everything for their children. In fact, the roots are different - women compensate for their childhood, doing everything that was not done for them when they were young. For example, children now receive all the toys they want (from the category - a toilet with a poop flying out, which costs $ 100-200). The parents' comment is simple: “Why! Mashenka has, but my daughter won't! It will definitely be too!"
It is difficult to say unequivocally whether there is a cult of eternal childhood today. It may have been in the past too, but earlier we could see less of it. The age of social networks began literally in the last 10 years (maximum 20 years). And over these 20 years, we began to look more (relatively speaking) into the apartments of other people, behind closed doors. Accordingly, we see a lot of things that we have not seen before. Our mothers and grandmothers were no less childish, they simply could not talk about all this; they had to pretend that they are adults and reasonable, they understand everything.
From her own experience of communication on Twitter - an adult woman, about 50 years old, claimed that our children have now become too slobbering ("Anything - and immediately run to a psychologist! Here we all stood firm before, were strong!"). Response comments: "You simply could not admit weakness, and because of this, now our children go to psychologists!"
With regard to an interesting life - we have many opportunities, we can travel, afford a lot of things that our grandmothers could not afford; from social networks we see who lives and how. Yes, it was only one or two generations ago, and because of this there is a feeling of eternal childhood. However, there is nothing wrong with this, if it is balanced, and the person is able to reason maturely and at the same time allow himself some childhood.
Another negative moment in our time is the topic of "kept women and gigolos", when adults and adults want to do everything for them (earn money, bring success to their feet, etc.).
Work, earn money, get on your feet, then you are a man! If you expect someone to offer you everything, it destroys your self-esteem and destroys your personality.
