What are the reasons for laziness? How to deal with this pathological inaction?

In fact, laziness can be divided into two problems - the problem with motivation and the problem with willpower.

So what could be the main reasons for laziness in relation to motivation?

Not strong enough motivation

Relatively speaking, if in the evening I need to get off the couch in order to earn some 100 rubles, which will absolutely not do any kind of weather in the house, I’m unlikely to get up from the couch. Indeed, why? 100 rubles more, 100 rubles less … If we were talking about 10,000 rubles, I would immediately jump out of bed and run to do something.

Sometimes there is a slightly different situation - you do not fully realize what the result will be. In this case, motivation is not motivation either. You do not really believe that you will get a tangible result, you do not give yourself such a right.

In fact, faith is simply giving yourself the right ("I have the right to earn these 10 thousand rubles in half an hour, which means I will get up and do it!"). If I do not give myself such a right, no matter how I get up and no matter how I try to complete the task, I will not succeed. Accordingly, this all refers to not too strong motivation and purpose.

Motivation and purpose always run parallel to each other. What is the difference between these two concepts?

The goal implies a specific task, for example, to earn 10 thousand rubles in half an hour and then regularly earn that amount. Motivation may mean that I will not get a result right now, and it will not be in specific numbers, but in the fact that I will become better, I will develop, etc. Thus, motivation is a process, a goal is a result.

If the goal for a person is too high (he does not believe that he can achieve certain results; does not know what kind of efforts he should make for this), this will slow down his motivation. Metaphorically, motivation can be compared to the energy that pulls us forward towards a goal.

Purpose and needs do not match

The goal is a clear task with a deadline and amount (“I want to consistently earn 10 thousand dollars a month!”). Motivation is what drives you to make those $ 10,000 a month.

So, you want to earn or receive a certain amount, but your body resists (“What will I do with this money? I don’t need expensive branded clothes, I don’t need to pay a mortgage for an apartment … You can buy a car with this money, but why ? "), The energy inside you does not turn on (" Well, good, but no! "). And whatever you suggest to yourself, consciousness does not respond to the call.

Quite a frequent occurrence when people say that they want to earn a lot, but when they see a couple in love, they have tears in their eyes, their heart flutters in their chest - inside consciousness, the reaction goes to completely different things. This is a kind of substitution - I want to earn a lot, but in reality I want to love and be in harmonious and beautiful relationships like everyone else around.

The opposite situation also happens - a person tries in every possible way to sort out relations in the family, but in fact worries about debts and payments to contractors, looking for additional options for earning money in order to invest in business. The body gives him a hint that the real interest is not in relationships, but in money. And until this basic emotional need is settled, it will be impossible to solve other problems. Where a person's interest is concentrated, there will be more energy, respectively, these tasks will be solved with greater efficiency.

Abstract goal (no specific desires, no specific visualization, no clear understanding of what exactly you want). It may be that there are thoughts, but your soul does not agree to follow this path, therefore the goal remains at the level of an abstract task (you do not see it and do not feel it)

When a person sees a conscious and understandable goal in front of him, he seems to feel it, it is practically in his hands. Then the energy turns on. An internal resource is not connected to an abstract target; in fact, it does not exist. If you do not know what exactly you want to achieve (I want - I do not want), then you do not want this at all. Conclusion - this will not be motivation, you will continue to be lazy, because the energy has not risen.

The most important point of all three points is that pure desire and energy should be stronger than all your beliefs, attitudes, ideas, goals. It should "pull" you from the inside. If this is not the case, you will once again lie down limply on the bed and watch the series for the twenty-fifth time - it does not matter what to do, just not to do this thing!

How to deal with lack of motivation and what to do in general with all this?

Set clear, concise and understandable goals for the SMART technique.

First of all, identify the basic need, for this, turn to the deepest part of your soul, which really knows what it needs most. No matter how you deceive yourself (“I need to earn more!”), If your soul wants peace and relaxation, the hugs of a loved one, gentle, romantic and pleasant dates, you will not succeed in the material sphere. Recognize this need in yourself! Naturally, there are situations when a conflict arises and grows inside consciousness - you can want to hug with your loved one all day, but you still need to earn money, because after some time you will want to eat. In this case, everything will be as you agree with your inner child. Sit down, look inside your consciousness, pay attention to your needs, acknowledge them and say to yourself: “Yes, I see, feel, hear, understand that you want more hugs, love and romance now, but there is another more important task. If we do not fulfill it, we will not have ice cream, candy, a new dress. We will not pay for utilities, we will not buy delicious food, etc. " Say what is important for you in this zone and agree with yourself: "Look, today we will take a little walk, but then we will work for two days." In any conflict, the main thing is to find a compromise, so find this balance within your consciousness.

In the case of the opposite situation (you tell yourself that you need to sort out the relationship, but money is hovering from yourself), agree again: “Okay, let me put this question aside now, I will agree with my wife. I understand that we have a protracted serious conflict, this crisis needs to be resolved, but right now I have a project on fire, I need to do this. Let us raise this issue in a week, but for now we will live without emotions, just try to turn them off."

If we consider the deeper reasons that influenced the fact that your motivation stopped “turning on”, and you began to “push” it inside yourself, we can single out suppressive parents and relatives who pushed back any strong your arousal. Accordingly, from early childhood you got used to the situation when, when joy was manifested, mom, dad, grandfather or grandmother simply “pushed” her back into your consciousness (“Why are you jumping on the bed? ! ). Relatively speaking, you were forced to play a calm game, and this is tantamount to punishment, because you wanted to throw out the whole charge of energy.

If in childhood you had similar situations, a worked-out mechanism has already been fixed in the subconscious. As soon as there is excitement, something strongly inspires you, you yourself pull yourself up - to sit still, nothing can be done, because you are not worthy of it; you cannot get what your excitement wants; you should sit quietly in a corner and want nothing at all in this life.

Thus, you yourself "wrap yourself in," and after that you don't want anything. What you really wanted to get in life, you cannot; you yourself have convinced yourself that it hurts to want something badly. Conclusion - I won't do it, I'd rather pretend that I don't want anything. So a person suppresses in himself any energy, excitement and inspiration - he was already taught in childhood to do this successfully.

Learn to include your desires, start listening to them, find out your true needs, no matter how painful it may be!

The situation when a person chooses between relationships and money is quite common in our time. Against her background, many people have a substitution - I want to be in a relationship, but I'm going to get a second job. Why? It hurts a person to admit the fact that he really wants simple human attention, emotional inclusion, care and relationships - simple things that were repressed for him in childhood, rejected by family members (the child could even be ashamed of the need for emotional contact).

So, if the family has hardened the child's need, in adulthood he will have a rather painful perception of his true need, and, as a result, the substitution will begin. The next step is laziness and procrastination.

Look for your basic need, then you can find the inner energy to fulfill it. And energy is the motivation that will carry you towards your goal. Only then will laziness disappear!
