What are panic attacks? There are a lot of definitions, I will try to explain it quite simply. A panic attack is an objectively unreasonable, inexplicable and painful experience of anxiety (it can be of different strengths), accompanied by various fears (both related to what is happening and not), almost always accompanied by bodily manifestations (choking, severe sweating, heart palpitations, dizziness, confusion). In this case, you should not be limited only to the treatment of physical manifestations, it is also important to look a little deeper and try to find the psychological cause of panic attacks.

A panic attack can be thought of as an outburst of strong emotions and feelings that accumulate and have no other way out. At some point in life, an event may occur to a person that caused such strong feelings that the person simply cannot and is not ready to cope with them. So that the power of these emotions simply does not destroy the human psyche, the process of forgetting takes place, the repression of everything (or almost everything) that cannot be sustained. What kind of events can be? Anything! Any event that deeply touched a person. This can be the loss of a loved one, a difficult end to a relationship, a lack of understanding in the family, difficulties in work and career, violence, too unexpected joyful event in which it is impossible to believe the first time, and many other events.

In panic attacks, we still get satisfaction and certain benefits, they are called secondary benefits. Naturally, they are not realized and are hardly available for our understanding. It can be emotional relaxation, attention and care of close and important people, a sense of the uniqueness and peculiarities of your illness, this list can be continued indefinitely.

At some point in your life, you realize that suffering from panic attacks is more powerful than secondary benefits. Here the decision comes to fight not only with physical manifestations, but also with the psychological component.

First of all, it is worth undergoing a complete health examination. Better comprehensive treatment for both soul and deed. If we focus only on the treatment of physical manifestations, then this will be of little effect because only gives a temporary effect. Also, when working with the psychological component, one should not forget about the somatic disorders that have already appeared. The psychotherapeutic path is not fast, it must be remembered that problems are not formed instantly, their solution also takes time, sometimes more than the appearance of the problem itself. In the process of psychotherapy, one has to get acquainted with those feelings that have been repressed, it is possible to relive and understand them in a safe psychotherapeutic environment together with a psychoanalyst. This is what helps to get rid of panic attacks and other related problems.
