The relationship between a man and a woman is not just a male-female interaction. This is the synergy of masculine and feminine principles in ourselves.

In the psyche of every man there is a feminine component - anima, his inner woman. In the psyche of every woman there is a masculine part - the animus, her inner man. These parts are unconscious aspects of our psyche and are inaccessible to consciousness.

Socio-psychological initiation (transition to a new level of perception) occurs when we learn to combine the masculine and feminine principles within ourselves, create a new life experience, learn to perceive others and ourselves in all their integrity.

How does the rejection of masculinity and femininity affect our lives?

In men, deep inside there is an image of a mother, which is emotionally charged in different ways. The world of men, with its corresponding structure, supplanted the inner femininity, protecting itself from the maternal complex. This alienates the man from himself. It is difficult for a man to listen to his anime, as it jeopardizes an already formed volatile masculinity. A man ceases to see the world realistically, and in the Other he always sees the one who strives to take power over him and conquer him. And then he subconsciously strives to run away, please or control. The other will never be one that differs from him and has its own value. The other is always dangerous for his fragile masculinity. This behavior splits the man and alienates him from the outside world. Sexism makes things worse. If social requirements do not correspond to the characteristics of the human soul, a person develops one-sidedly. This leads to enmity with oneself and with others. A man sacrifices his soul for the sake of material and social benefits, as well as for the sake of meeting social requirements, so as not to lose face.

Gradually alienating himself from his inner world and his anima, he expects a woman to take on the whole burden of emotions. Sex begins to play an important role, since only through it does a man connect with his feelings and body. This gives him strength, but at the same time makes him even more dependent and subconsciously makes him feel hatred towards the one on whom he depends. A man is under the illusion that it is his duty to always be right. He has lost the power of his tears and does not honor the tender feminine part of his personality. He sacrificed her for his own power and status. In view of this, the spirit of femininity disappears without receiving due respect.

The only way out is to admit the existence of your anima, to share this truth with the Other. And that implies becoming vulnerable, the risk of being ridiculed.

It is important for a man to accept his need for care and attention, to realize that he is responsible for taking care of himself, and not looking for care in a woman. Learn to deal with inner shame and fear by drawing on the anima. Asking yourself questions to help you become aware of your sadness and anxiety. Identify what scares you and how it prevents you from moving forward. To what extent to combine work and the needs of the soul, how to hear the inner voice through the noise of social prescriptions and personal complexes.

And what about the woman?

In the eyes of many women, femininity has been relegated to the level of an obedient wife or a beautiful lover. They find they are living for the sake of men, not for themselves. Some are freed from these fetters and try to realize themselves in the profession. In an effort to get out of the position of an "eternal girl", they seem to reproduce the masculine path of development and thus forever suppress and devalue their femininity. Others may outwardly obey the existing system, but covertly express their anger, for example, by denying sex, engaging in extramarital affairs, or emptying credit card accounts.

The role of the "eternal girl" deprives a woman of her independence and forces her to live a dependent life. Instead of pursuing personal and professional growth, finding out who she really is, solving the difficult task of her own transformation, the eternal girl usually forms an identity based on the projections of other people onto her. Femme fatale, charming wife, good daughter, muse woman. Instead of realizing her own strength and taking responsibility for life, she is in a state of helplessness. In order to get to know yourself, you need to learn to form your own value system, your own opinion and not repeat other people's views on life, being a screen of other people's projections.

Often in families where there was no father, and the mother assumed male functions, the daughter lacks not only a genuine model of masculinity, but also the model of femininity that the girl borrows from her mother. In this case, feminine components need integration, which remain undeveloped. Their overcompensation in workaholism and striving for success also prevents them from connecting with the animus. To address the masculine components, one must first pay attention to feminine feelings and instincts. This does not mean that career success is unnecessary; the source of self-realization should be the center of her personality, and not some separate area of her life. Denying an important component of her essence, a woman loses connection with the Self. She hides behind a set of commitments and expectations of others that are alien to her inner world. To throw off the Persona means to become open to the dark and light sides of your personality, which have been repressed and suppressed. This is very dangerous, because the suppressed side remains undeveloped and primitive.

Corresponding to others, a woman hinders the development of her own creativity, interpersonal relationships and a special vision of the world.

The first perception of masculinity by a woman is that of a father. This is the first model of relationship to a real man and to inner masculinity. Having lost touch with her animus, a woman stalls in her development and buries her creativity.

The inner animus is in harmony with femininity and protects it. The inner man is strong, sincere, caring. He takes the initiative, argues with us and moves forward. This is a natural man with ordinary earthly instincts and sexuality. He loves our inner child. He is a like-minded person, a kindred spirit, an inner friend and lover who accompanies a woman on her wanderings. It is the power of self-affirmation, the right to define one's boundaries and say “no” when necessary.

If a woman truly appreciates herself, if her actions are based on the sphere of her needs, if she creates something of her own and feels her authority, then she is ready to enter into a dialogue with her masculinity.

Loving yourself, taking care of yourself, being your support and support, the ability to solve your own problems - this is the synergy of the masculine and feminine principles in us.

The task of a person's personal growth is to recognize the unconscious component of the opposite sex, recognize its value and consciously express it in the appropriate situation. When this unconscious component is recognized and valued, it becomes a source of energy and inspiration, as well as a foundation for creative relationships between men and women. If you suppress it, it becomes enraged and manifests itself in an extremely primitive form.
