Resources is a buzzword. To simplify as much as possible, this is the energy that allows us to get the desired result. We invest something - words, actions, time, effort, and, accordingly, we receive something. For the good, we strive to get what we want. If we have enough resources, then we get what we want. If not, we enter a state of dissatisfaction, apathy and sometimes even depression.

One of my clients, who has many projects and constant time pressure at work, told me what she began to do so that the resource state never leaves her. She has tried many things - running in the morning, energy cocktails, spiritual practices and much more. But she still feels tired, the amount of energy does not increase, her mood is at zero and her hands just give up.

Why is this happening. She does so much!

- What do you need resources for? What is the purpose? - I asked her when we met.

- Work, - she answered, - I have a lot of work and projects.

- What for? - I clarified

“Well, to finish the project, so that the boss would give a new project,” she continued to argue her position.

- What for? - I did not calm down, which caused the confusion of my client.

“Well, for the boss to praise, to appreciate, to notice, to give an even more complex project,” she replied.

She really did not understand why I was asking all these questions, because before this incident everything was clear in her picture of the world, only her body, apparently, did not.

- Okay, let's put the question differently, - I said, - why is this ORGANISM? The organism, the body is the instrument through which we act and achieve the goal, realize desires. Why does the body need to be praised by its boss?

As a rule, after such questions, a stupor arises, because they allow you to look from a different angle at things that previously seemed unambiguous. And yes, for some time, they probably performed their function, but, apparently, now this is not the case, since the body hurts and asks for mercy.

Probably, something has gone out of order and it is necessary to establish energy exchange in a new way, so that a person returns to a resource state and life sparkles with new colors.

How energy is allocated for our actions.

To begin with, the main task of the brain (organism) is to SURVIVE. He doesn’t care about his boss’s praise - he doesn’t need it for physical survival.

If the body (brain) sees that a person spends an EXCESSIVE amount of energy on tasks that are incomprehensible and unnecessary to him, then the shop for issuing the resource is closed. The situation is further complicated by the fact that a person often does not understand why he is taking certain actions, because he acts automatically (the usual scheme, fashion, past scenarios, etc.).

How the brain works

  1. The brain stores energy for survival.
  2. If you have a desire to do something not for the purpose of survival, but to satisfy some other needs, the brain releases energy (hormones: dopamine, adrenaline), if you clearly explain to him (yourself) why you need this energy. You will receive resources when the question "WHY?" you will give yourself a clear answer.

_

Let's go back to my client.

By asking the question “Why?” I tried to understand her personal, subjective motives. There are plenty of objective ones - they feed us the media and society. These are earnings, status, a prestigious place of work, a permanent job, and so on. But it is PERSONAL? Why would she have many projects and get even more work from the management in the form of a bonus and reward, as, at one time, excellent students at school were given an assignment with an asterisk, remember?

This is where a stupor arose.

Everyone will have their own motives. Anyone who asks himself such a question will come across interesting facts about himself, the presence of which had never been known before. But the story is that only by honestly answering these questions can you know what to do next.

If you rape yourself, no energy will be generated.

If you go to an unloved job because others expect this from you, or if you dream of meeting some kind of bar imposed a long time ago, which has now lost its relevance for you, and at the same time in your heart you fiercely hate this field of activity, then in In this case, no energy will be released.

Neurobiology explains this as follows

Our nervous system has two oppositely directed vectors - excitation and inhibition. If the process of arousal prevails, we are proactive, very energetic, passionate about the process and multifunctional. If the braking is on the contrary, it is passive and apathetic.

Each person is dominated by either one or the other type of temperament. This is partly due to genetics. Everyone knows about 4 types of temperament (choleric, sanguine, melancholic, phlegmatic). On the other hand, to some extent the formation of behavioral reactions is the merit of society.

You can only change those reactions that are formed by society.

As if - in society they are formed, in society they can be changed.

My client is a classic choleric, dopamine levels are high, multitasking and active in life.

She recharged herself with energetically useful juices, did exercises, ran - the dopamine level jumped, the energy increased - it seems like you can move on. In our case, go to work. But then she comes to work, and she feels sick from work, does not want to be there. And at this moment all the excitation energy acquired with the help of juices and charging is extinguished by inhibition.

Self-sabotage occurs, such a “self-trip”.

When excitement and inhibition are fighting in you, especially when you are not aware of this process and do not understand why this is happening, a blockage occurs. It can be felt in the body in the form of nausea, headache, fatigue. It happens that you approach work and feel as if something pulls you back.

All the energy that could move you forward if the goal was chosen correctly is spent on resistance.

How to move without violence

For actions to take place without violence, there is such a mechanism - EFFORT.

Its conditions:

  1. The goal is aligned - the brain and body work in unison.
  2. Do you have an answer to the question "Why?"
  3. The action plan has been worked out.
  4. You make the effort with an eye on how you feel and readily adjust your path as soon as you feel a disagreement with your body.

Exercise to help fill the gap energy is leaking through

I will give you a cool exercise that will significantly relieve your head, which means it will release energy for what is really important to you.

So, the essence of the exercise is to streamline the chaos of unfinished business that swarms in our heads, which means it "scares" our brain, creating feelings of anxiety.

Energy is lost when it goes into a huge amount of unfinished business. Imagine that your brain is a computer with many windows open. Your main job is being stalled because the energy is spent maintaining open source software. So what we need to do is close them.

We take a piece of paper and write out all unfinished business - from large ones that are not so easy to finish (toxic relationships, for example) to small household ones (washing dishes).

Now we begin to divide this list into three small ones:

- those things that can be completed in the near future, - those that you decided not to finish at all (not to finish reading an uninteresting book - why waste time?)

- those about the completion date of which you do not know yet, you cannot decide due to their complexity.

_

With the first point, everything is clear. You just write the date when you are going to finish these cases and try to do it.

The second one is very important! All decisions to DO NOT FINISH business must be CONSCIOUS. Do not take into account the principles that guided you in the past, for example, you ALWAYS finish reading books. Now you are different, and right now you DECIDE not to finish reading an uninteresting book, you decide not to waste time on it. That is, at this point you also complete things, it just happens in a very paradoxical way - you make a conscious decision not to complete them.

As for the third list, it is the most difficult. After all, you know in advance that it is not so easy to complete these matters. Nevertheless, the effect of simply listing them on paper is colossal. Because you, at the very least, unload your brain from the need to think about it. The problem is written - it is clear. You will come back to it later.

Test for yourself the effectiveness of this exercise. Take the time - you are doing this only for yourself.

And finally, I'll tell you about one more exercise.

Now about how to be filled with energy. We will write again, because the brain understands better when it is written down. The answer is simple. When we write, we automatically structure information, because it can only be formulated through sentences. And if we leave information in the form of a thought, then the structure will definitely not be there and the idea will be lost in our thought mixer.

We take a piece of paper and write down 20 things / things / phenomena that please you.

Each of us has our own joys - yoga, swimming, painting, diving, football.

Write down approximate dates of the last time you indulged in a hobby and consider resuming activities. If you clearly know that it pleases you and fills you with energy, do not ignore the importance of this process.

And a few more words about oxygen. Fresh air is the most free and working remedy for exhaustion and depression. Oxygen acts magically - at the biological level, and therefore, an instant transformation of the hormonal system occurs. As a result, the mood improves. Try it.:)
