You've probably heard that many of our pains have a psychosomatic basis, that is, they are provoked by our psychological state. Of course, the doctor should not be ignored, because both body and soul need to be treated. And most importantly, it is important to understand whether you have bodily disabilities. Let's take a closer look at everything.

If we talk about psychosomatics, it is important to note that it has three stages of its development:

1. Stage "Psychosomatic symptom".

This is a one-time occurrence of pain. For example, the pressure rose, itching appeared, the eyes began to water, the head ached, etc. That is, there is some symptom that appeared for the first time or from time to time makes itself felt.

What to do?

First of all, it is important to slow down, take a few deep breaths and exhalations, stop and try to notice how you are feeling. Think about what is happening in your life that was not there before the symptom. what happened before his appearance, what events, feelings, thoughts? You can do the technique described below.

Essentially, the symptom's job is to draw your attention to a psychological problem. And if you ignore it, do not pay attention to your life, feelings, states, then it intensifies and can move to the next stage.

2. Stage "Psychosomatic state".

This is a long-term manifestation of a symptom that can last from several days to several months. In this case, the symptom is present, but there are no physiological disorders. For example, a person may have had high blood pressure for two weeks, but the examination does not reveal any reason. The doctor says that everything is in order with the body. Some doctors immediately recommend seeing a psychotherapist.

What to do?

The same as in the previous stage. Only, most likely, the help of a psychologist-psychotherapist is already needed here, who will help you identify the cause of psychosomatics and eliminate it.

If nothing is done, then a psychosomatic symptom, holding on for a long time, causes disturbances already at the level of the body, deforming organs and systems.

3. Stage "Psychosomatosis".

As already mentioned, at this stage, violations in the body are already noted and the doctor discovers where the failure is.

What to do?

Here we definitely need medical help from a doctor and parallel work with a psychologist-psychotherapist. At this stage, it is unlikely that the organ will be able to restore health, but psychotherapy will contribute to the fact that relapses will occur less often.

For example, high blood pressure, which at this stage has already developed into diagnosed hypertension with obvious vascular disorders, already requires constant drug treatment. Psychotherapy here will improve the quality of life, reducing the frequency and height of pressure surges, but it will not return the former elasticity to the vessels, and therefore the person remains on lifelong medication.

These are the stages of development of psychosomatics.

And you probably understand that the sooner the cause is identified, the easier it is to eliminate it and the more chances you have to maintain your health. And the following technique will help you with this.

Hear the disease technique

I often used this technique in the camp when working with children in the isolation ward (this is a medical office in which the sick are under the supervision of a doctor). And you know, she has established herself over the years of work and was very popular with the children, who after her quickly returned to their squad. Here I will modify it a little for your independent work.

So what is the technique aimed at?

It allows you to understand what is the cause of your pain / illness, react to negative emotions and make adjustments. The technique is effective at the initial stage of psychosomatics, that is, with one-time symptoms.

Instruction.

Take out sheets of paper, a pen, and drawing supplies. These can be pencils, markers, or paints. Sit comfortably with your back resting on the back and your feet on the floor, close your eyes.

Take several slow, deep breaths (5 or 7). Then continue to breathe in the same rhythm and observe your breathing as if nothing else exists except it now, but there is only inhalation and exhalation. Breathe for 2-3 minutes.

Then run your mind's eye over the body. Then pay attention to your symptom / pain / illness. Breathe into it. Consider this area carefully. What's your symptom? What color, shape, size is it? What is his weight? Image. Imagine your symptom. Consider it carefully. Whom do you see? What is he?

Then open your eyes. And draw your symptom.

After it is drawn, take a pen and a piece of paper. Write down the answers to the questions. You can do this out loud if you have a well-developed verbal fantasy, but it is better to write.

Give a name to your symptom.

What is he? Write the characteristics.

How does he feel? Why?

What does he want? What is your dream?

What does he tell you? Can you ask him why you need him?

Write your answer to him.

After you have written down the answers. Look at the picture: what can you add to your symptom / illness so that he does not feel sad / lonely / so that he does not bother you?

Finish.

See how the symptom is feeling. How do you feel. What is important to understand?

If you are unable to hear the symptom, then ask yourself, what does it give you? Why do you need it? What value do you get from having this symptom?

What important will you lose if the symptom / illness disappears?

To be continued…
