The topic of self-development is very relevant now and I, as a practicing psychologist, can help. Every day we are faced with development. The world does not stand still, it moves forward as much as possible. We are always trying to understand what we want, what to do and how to decide everything. How can you do all this?

Nowadays, there are many ways to develop. There are a lot of publications on this topic, and here it is important to find a response to “your” methods. Self-development in the 21st century is required everywhere. As in school, work and relationships. Without this, nowhere. I want to be always on top. How do you force yourself to develop? I think that if you force yourself … then nothing. It won't work through resistance. It should be an inner feeling, or rather a readiness for action. This Internet is full of articles, methods, advice on how to self-develop. This is now being talked about on almost every corner.

But this does not always work … and then what to do? Give up and give up?

If you are not ready to do something … then there will be no development and self-development. If you are now standing still, it means that something is hindering this. You need to understand WHAT.

1) You are simply tired in this rush and you need rest.

2) You do not know what you want and you need to define your goals.

3) Or do you just don’t want it and you don’t want to do anything? This is the most important question and you need to answer it honestly.

And everything will become clear. Every day we find excuses for ourselves that we need to do something, we need to go forward, I stand still, etc. Introspection also appears here, in the form of such phrases “it's time to do something”, “I haven't done anything today”, “what have I ever done”, etc.

Everyone needs a resource and a clear understanding of what exactly they want and what needs to be done for this. The answer is always within us. A psychologist can help and suggest which methods are suitable for you personally.

To start doing something … you just have to start doing! Everything is very simple and there is no need to complicate what does not exist. There is a fear of failure that it will not work out, while others will be better, I cannot, how to do it at all, but in general this is all unreal, etc. … and such speeches are made constantly. They say that appetite comes with eating. Just take it and take a little step and see what happens. And then everything will become clear.

Defending your boundaries

There will always be people who do not believe in you, who will interfere, let you down. You have your own personal space, thoughts and experiences. And rely on them. But there will also be people who will believe in you. You can share your successes with them, be inspired and develop. It is important to clearly understand what you want and not compare yourself with other people. Your life, your boundaries and your experiences.

Take time for yourself

Each of us has our own mental hygiene. So, a day you need to allocate yourself 70 minutes. Be alone with yourself, do not receive any information (that is, sit at this time on social networks, do not watch TV, do not listen to music. This time should be allotted completely for you. It is not necessary to be with you for 70 minutes in a row, but in total every day, you should get this time, then you can focus your attention on the things you need.

Energy

Direct your energy to only what you want. Thoughts, actions give you energy. Thinking that you want to read this book, watch the film, enroll in courses and take them with honors … so go ahead !! Describe clearly what kind of development you want. In studies, work, hobbies, etc. A precise definition of the area will help you focus only on the business that is important to you. There should be an exact understanding of when, where, what result you want to get and what you are ready to do for it.

Don't compare yourself to anyone

Don't compare yourself to anyone else. There will always be someone better, more successful, faster, etc. Compare yourself, only to yourself. Everyone doubts, fears and does not know where to start. Ask around:)

Listen to yourself and believe in yourself. You are unique and everything is in your hands. After all, this is only your life and live it the way you want!
