Everything ingenious is simple. Earthing one of the most effective techniques for normalizing the mental state and it is as simple as a door.

And this door leads us to the here and now, to a world without anxiety.

Earthing the technique introduced by psychotherapist Alexander Lowen can be used for panic attacks, anxiety, derealization and depressive thinking, etc.

Almost everyone is familiar with the feeling of unsteadiness in the legs, detachment from the ground, which occurs in situations of extreme excitement, self-doubt and loss of mental support.

Psychosomatically, most of the symptoms of neurotic (especially anxiety) disorders are felt in the upper body: hot flushes in the head, headaches, a lump in the throat, problems with breathing, heartbeat, spine.

Earthing a good way to transfer excess energy to the lower body.

Lowen himself said that grounding has not only a physical meaning, but is also a metaphor for a full-fledged "connection of the personality with the soil and reality" (Lowen A., 2000)

The connection between physical stability and the psyche is also symbolically confirmed in such expressions as "psychological strength", "strong character".

Versatility and efficiency grounding proceeds from a simple fact - almost everyone once learned to walk. Perhaps this is the first achievement in the life of a little person. Moving into early childhood, by grounding, provides access to resources, to self-confidence and the ability to overcome obstacles.

There are many options for the technique due to its simplicity and versatility. How do you ground yourself?

Earthing it is focusing on the feet and weight. If you are sitting or standing, you need to put your legs parallel to the width of the pelvis. You can take off your shoes. Imagine that you are a tree and grow roots into the ground.

You can also stand up on your toes and go down to your full foot.

Earthing well complemented centering.

Ask yourself, where is my center? It is often found in the head, chest, or completely outside the body. Next, you need to mentally move it a couple of centimeters below the navel. Anxiety is quickly reduced when the person returns to their body.

With vertical grounding … You can imagine that a red thread is stretched through your body from the crown to the groin and this is your axis, an even axis.

Ground you can walk barefoot on the grass or some rough surface. In an apartment, it can be a rug covered with small pebbles.

Correct grounding changes the posture and gait of a person. According to Lowen, such a gait is accompanied by a feeling of "energy flow". "When walking or standing, this movement is felt as coming from the ground. Regardless of the position in which we are, this movement of energy is possible only when we are grounded."

As meditation is based on breathing, grounding is based on standing and walking. But this technique is undeservedly deprived of attention. Although in my opinion it is more accessible, versatile and effective than meditation.

Have a nice day and enjoy your grounding earthlings.
