DON'T GET DROWNED IN WORK

At first glance, there are quite objective obstacles on the female career ladder - for example, the need to combine work with home and family. How to find a balance between career and personal life? Listen to the advice of business owners who have to be in touch every minute and keep everything under control. To stay alive at the same time, raise children and build relationships, these people follow three commandments:

1. Take responsibility for your life and not let your work influence your decisions.

2. Gather like-minded people around you who can support and take on part of the obligations.

3. Build life in such a way as to show your abilities to the fullest.

Sounds abstract? In practice, these commandments boil down to always being yourself and never regretting lost time. To maintain your performance, avoid overwork and get the right amount of time to sleep and exercise. Accustom yourself to the sacred time ritual - let no one bother you for an hour a week or five minutes a day. Balance stress at work with vivid impressions in a "peaceful" life: family holidays, shopping, hobbies. Look for your resource base - the one that helps you recuperate. It could be family, friends, or faith, or it could be a mentor's insightful advice. Make sure that even at the peak of business success, your life is not limited to work.

WHOM TO FUCK WITH

Another reason for the difference in opportunities between men and women is the composition of the social environment. These are people with whom a relationship of trust is formed, who can provide support in moving up the career ladder. Most top managers recognize that the help of more experienced and influential colleagues is important in achieving higher positions. However, most senior executives are men who mostly interact with men. Vicious circle. Women are simply statistically less likely to count on the support of their superiors.

A good example of an alternative perspective on the problem is the American project Lean In, created by entrepreneur and Facebook CEO Sheryl Sandberg, the first woman on the board of directors of the world's largest social network. Already, stars from the world of show business, sports and politics are joining this non-profit project: for example, Selena Gomez, Serena Williams and Eva Longoria. In their motivating videos and articles, Lean In members tell about their success stories and women's mutual assistance, teach to share experiences and seek help from their female colleagues to change work environment together and achieve more.

FEATURES OF WOMEN'S BUSINESS

The world needs women leaders now more than ever. On the one hand, it is important to maintain a diversity of leadership composition, including by gender. The more different points of view, the more objectively you can look at the situation. On the other hand, it is women who possess those qualities that are relevant in times of crises, rapid changes and unexpected difficulties. Immediately, we note that we are not talking about the superiority of one sex over the other, but only about objective differences in the structure of character and types of thinking. What distinguishes women who dare to break stereotypes and achieve success?

It only seems that ladies are vulnerable and emotional creatures. Look at a mother who is raising a child in her own way, despite the annoying advice and criticism of others. There are many such examples, even the most fragile young ladies are by nature able to endure a lot and work with people who are unpleasant to them.

Moreover, women tend to create lasting friendships that add up to a powerful support system and a source of feedback when needed. The strength of successful business women is the desire for cooperation, not excellence. Rarely does a lady strive with all her heart for sole power. For the sake of the common good, she would rather share powers with worthy people, delegate some of the tasks to those who are able to cope with them.

As a rule, it is not difficult for a woman to ask for help or admit she is wrong. From the point of view of a common cause, this is much more effective than trying to appear omnipotent and act at random.

Finally, women's thinking is designed to cope with unforeseen difficulties and adapt to changing circumstances. Natural resourcefulness saves not only in the household - it can be indispensable in the world of big business.

DECIDE TO CHANGE

How did it happen that for all their merits, women are still not equal in rights with men? It's easy to blame society, politics, and corporate culture. But instead of wasting time and energy on pickets and demonstrations, you can change your own life step by step - and after personal changes the world around you will begin to change.

1. GET INITIATIVE

Step out of your comfort zone and take on tasks that will require you a little more than you are used to. Unfortunately, women tend to avoid difficult tasks: they want to save energy for their husband and children, they are terribly disgraced, there is no incentive to go forward and fight. Men, on the other hand, are much more likely to throw themselves into hell, even if they understand that a lot of work awaits them. Take an example from them.

2. BREAK STEREOTYPES

Prove to yourself and others that you are capable of sacrificing typical activities and interests for the sake of useful contacts or to build contact with the community. Next time your male colleagues are going to billiards or bowling, go with them. Make it your contribution to changing your social environment - extra support never hurts.

3. CHANGE YOURSELF

Answer yourself honestly: how do you personally manage to combat prejudices about the role of women in business? How do you improve your qualifications and what do you learn? What vacancies are you looking for and who would you take under your control? How do you imagine your path to the position of a leader and how do you plan to show yourself in this role? When you manage to cope with your own stereotypes about your place in the company and society in general, it will be easier to find tools to influence the situation in the company where you work. By example, inspire your bosses to introduce new rules, conduct trainings and programs that will give you and your employees a career boost. And remember that despite all the difficulties, changes and achievements, you remain a woman and have the right to be beautiful in any role you choose.
