Each of us has a “fight or flight” mechanism at the genetic level. But since it is not applicable in modern society, we began to ardently deny our nature. Instead of yelling at the offender, each of us, gritting his teeth more than once, listened to all the accusations to the end. Instead of crying, I suppressed the tears and could not breathe out, it felt like something was stuck in my throat.

All of these reactions lead to the fact that our muscles are pinched, hardened, and because of this we feel bad. The worst thing is that this happens over the course of so many years that we no longer feel this tension. But this does not mean that it passes without a trace, it reminds of itself in constant pain in the neck, back, headache or toothache. Because of it, panic attacks or an incomprehensible feeling of excitement appear, which is taken as if from nowhere.

What can we do to relax if we are in constant tension?

There is a special technique. If we cannot relax our muscles on our own, we need to make them relax on their own. To do this, they need to be strained even more so that they no longer have the opportunity to remain squeezed.

The exercise should be done while sitting. Starting from top to bottom, tighten your forehead (you can wrinkle or frown), then wrinkle your nose, put on a smile (as wide as you can), clench your teeth, tighten your neck (as if you want to throw your head back, but something is bothering you). Then go to the body, tighten your shoulders (raise them as high as possible), tighten your back (bring your shoulder blades together and try to lower them down), tighten your arms (as bodybuilders do, showing off their muscles), clench your fists. Moving on to the lower body. Tighten your buttocks so that your thighs do not rest on the surface you are sitting on. "Pull in" the perineum, twisting the pelvis, tense the leg muscles (as bodybuilders do, showing off their muscles), tuck the toes under you. Slowly count to 10 and relax the muscles of your entire body at the same time. Exhale. If necessary, take a few deep breaths in and out.

This exercise can be done several times a day.
