After the death of the mafia leader, this function is transferred to his son Massimo. Shortly before the murder of his father, he sees a beauty on the coast and falls in love.
Years later, Massimo accidentally meets a similar woman on the street, sets up surveillance for her, and then kidnaps her.
However, his captive named Laura turns out to be proud and in no hurry to become the mistress of a rich spoiled macho.
Massimo tells her that he didn’t know any refusal before, and if he met him, he used force, but the love for Laura, on which the man is almost obsessed, makes him curb his attraction.
Massimo promises Laura that sex between them will happen only if she wants it so much that she will beg.
Seduction by a man combines "stick" and "carrot", and sometimes takes the form of moral violence, physical by the way too, since the woman is in his captivity.
On the one hand, Laura's life resembles a fairy tale: staying in the most luxurious mansion in Sicily, gourmet food, travel, shopping in expensive stores, a powerful macho nearby who goes crazy over her, teases and tempts in every way. On the other hand, Massimo is spoiled by the attention of women and is in no hurry to abandon them even in the process of winning Laura's love.
In my opinion, he committed violence against her when he was chained to the bed and forced to watch how another woman pleases him. Such actions without the consent of the partner can cause serious trauma.
Laura becomes a slave who is daily tempted with luxury, “tortured” with an abundance of erotic temptations. In such conditions, the victim's moral and physical breakdown occurs; it becomes almost impossible to resist the temptation and from not falling in love. However, Laura believes that as soon as she falls in love, Massimo will lose interest in her, so she begins to devalue him for herself, to resist her attraction.
At the same time, Laura's resistance does not look believable, given her past relationship with a far from ideal, passive partner with homosexual inclinations, who did not give her attention, forcing her to resort to self-gratification. But consent is also like death.
The process of seducing Massimo looks like putting Laura on hard drugs, after the withdrawal of which depression should inevitably happen to her, because so much what happened to her consciousness in these relationships will not be like life outside of them.
What is the purpose of all this for Massimo? Another game of a sadist who starves out his victim, testing himself for strength, striving to prove that you can fall in love with any, or maybe really sincere feeling for Laura, in which he saw that one and only when “imprinting” works?
Everyone will have their own attitude to the film. It was pleasant for me to look from both the aesthetic and erotic sides.
