In the age of information technology for the schizoid, there are many opportunities for self-realization. In principle, you can spin up a grandiose business while sitting at home (and you don't even have to go out somewhere for this!). If you live in a small town where there are no deliveries and it is difficult for you to leave your home comforts, consider moving to a big city, but take a job on the Internet. The topic of freelancing is now very developed, and you can conduct business on social networks, take orders remotely.
Let me give you my own example - for the first year of work, I never spoke to my main manager (even via Skype!), Text messages were enough. It is so comfortable and easy for me to communicate with a person, to enter into some kind of close contact. A year later, we began to periodically call up, but the format of the assignments (text) remained the same. Today we communicate with audio messages, but again this is not visual contact.
Another example from practice - one of my clients has a fairly large business, but he could not learn how to sell because of certain characteristics in his character, so he hired a person. Somewhere deep in his soul, he still flickers the idea of learning how to sell, but on the other hand, he understands that this is a rather difficult task for him (maybe not worth it?).
Indeed, it may not be worth it. Why rape yourself by trying to do something that is not your forte? In this case, it will be more effective to delegate this to other people who are constitutionally built in such a way that it will be easier for them to perform this task, and the exhaust will be much greater. Do what you can and develop those skills. From my own experience - starting to study in the field of psychotherapy, I also studied the basics of building a business. Here I want to share with you a rather important thought of one of the information businessmen - you do not need to try to tighten your weaknesses, on the contrary, strengthen your strengths, otherwise you will be nobody (and you will bring your weaknesses to an average level, and you will not raise your strengths above the average level) … You need to be a specialist in at least one of the areas; otherwise, involve other people. Learn to delegate, let go of control and egotism a little (no one can do better than me!). Yes, it's true - no one can do better than you, but in this case, if you try to do everything yourself, you will simply get stuck in one place, and nothing serious will work out in life.
Accordingly, the best job for a schizoid is working on the Internet, a freelance option. The ideal option is to also have a companion of an extroverted type of character who likes to interact with other people (any business is accompanied by contact). Typically, these partnerships are quite successful (for example, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak). In world history, there are many such examples of "paired" names, when one person was officially the face of the company, and the second with a schizoid type of character actually "built" the business. The situation is quite normal, but here one of the partners will have to put up with the laurels of the other. Slowly, you need to develop narcissistic and neurotic traits in yourself that are responsible for contact, warmth and intimacy. It is important that the schizoid has at least one close friend, ideally a couple (it absolutely does not matter who it will be - a man or a woman, and your possible addiction to same-sex relationships does not matter). If a schizoid has three close friends, he receives a gorgeous compensation. In general, in adulthood, a person really can have no more than three close friends. Life is quite stormy and impetuous, everyone has enough everyday problems, respectively, there is no time to “walk” to friends (in other words, if you have 7 friends and you devote one day a week to each, what about your personal life?). So, if you have three friends, you are already a well-compensated schizoid; if there is still a relationship, everything is fine in your life.
The work schedule is a very individual issue that does not depend on the characterology of the individual. Some people like to work for an hour and rest for half an hour, while others, on the contrary, like to work for 8 hours without a break and then rest for 8 hours. Develop your strategy, depending on your preferences.
What path is better for a schizoid? In the intellectual sphere, individuals with a schizoid type will feel quite comfortable, as in psychology, psychotherapy and the IT sphere. The ideal profession of a schizoid should be associated with "going deep", with little things that others may not even notice. This personality type is least likely to do a presentation activity, such as a designer. Undoubtedly, some schizoids have their own vision of beauty inside, but this is rather a creative part that will help to realize themselves in the artistic sphere or in the field of writing. Individuals with a schizoid type of character can also be excellent editors, screenwriters, etc. It is important for them to fully use their imagination. Schizoids easily notice boring moments or something unusual and beautiful.
If you have a "streak" to see beauty (in clothes, people, some kind of design solution, etc.), this suggests that the narcissistic part is also present in your character. All the most beautiful things are done by narcissists, and all the most interesting things are done by schizoids, because it is they who have a very deeply developed fantasy. A person with a schizoid type of character, with good narcissistic compensation, is able to create a truly beautiful, deep and unusual (in the literal sense of the word) thing.
So, in the conditions of today's reality, the schizoid has quite a lot of opportunities to realize himself. Try yourself in various areas, find support, because the most important thing is that you have a person who will do the work for you that is most difficult. This unspoken rule applies to absolutely everyone - for example, a narcissist will receive tremendous moral satisfaction from the process of communicating with people and involving them in business, but he will not enjoy boring work at all (sorting out details, shifting pieces of paper from place to place, or looking for mistakes) … However, in business, these two people harmoniously complement each other, and such a partnership will be the key to undoubted success.
