A lot of films about terrorists, sadists who kill massively innocent people, rape, loot have been released on the screens. Of those that I remembered and that I watched, they have a high viewing rating on "Kinopoisk", which means that the interest in such films is great (for example, "Epidemic" - rating 7.2, "Bloody Lady" - rating 7.1).

Can we definitely say that these films are an impetus for people with an unbalanced psyche to commit crimes? In my opinion, yes and no. Let me explain why.

The series "The Bloody Lady" shows how the disease of the landowner Darya Saltykova progressed, leading to her committing terrible crimes. It is not known for certain what she suffered. It could be epileptoid psychopathy, schizophrenia … It was shown that the pathology had a hereditary character and was transmitted to her from her mother, while in childhood she observed the abuse of peasants.

The triggers that triggered outbursts of rage and massacres were at first situations of cruelty towards her of other people (betrayal of her husband and his assault, betrayal of her lover; then, when attacks of paranoia began to progress, she punished people for spreading rumors about herself, for insubordination, feeling threatened from others, and just for fun). As you know, if violence is not stopped, then the sadist gradually forms a tolerance for it and he feels the need to commit more and more serious crimes.

The series demonstrates the inner world of Daria Saltykova: her deep sense of her own defectiveness, because from an early age she was recognized as sick and sent to a monastery, the feeling that the world is unfair to her, disappointment in religion, constant life in fear of waiting for an impending threat … the disease caused her vision of the world and attitude towards people.

But even in illness, in my opinion, a person can choose whether to take the side of good and creation or to the side of evil and destruction. Injustice towards oneself cannot be compensated for by cruelty, because the commission of cruel reprisals leaves an indelible scar in the soul of a person, dooming him to eternal torment.

On the one hand, watching violent films acts as a way of sublimation for people with suppressed aggression, who are often humiliated in life, as well as a way to overcome their fears of a rapist. Identifying for a moment with a monster, a person with a healthy psyche tames his fear. This psychological defense was described by Anna Freud as a girl, in order to overcome the fear of ghosts, imagined that she herself was a ghost.

Sigmund Freud saw in F. M. Dostoevsky's features of latent sociopathy, analyzing the works of the classics, how vividly he described the sins and subsequent mental anguish of his characters. The literary work of the writer, according to Freud, was a way of sublimating his shadow inclinations.

If we talk about people with an unstable psyche, unable to hold on to their impulses, then there is a risk that they can react directly to their aggression. their behavior is dominated by "primitive" defense mechanisms that exclude a preliminary analysis of their motives and conscious self-control.

For such people, any movie that demonstrates cruelty can become a trigger for the commission of a crime or a hint on how to commit it. Does this mean that censorship should be imposed on all films showing cruelty, all books with a touch of sadomasochism and eroticism, all relevant sites? How realistic and expedient is this? I have no definite answer.

Why are there so many films about rapists? Perhaps these "spectacles" serve as a surrogate for emotional self-regulation, like overeating or alcohol.

The reason for the interest in such films also lies in the basal anxiety caused by the feeling that people have lost a sense of security.

The Epidemic series shows how the country was seized by panic due to the massive spread of an unknown fatal disease, which led to an outbreak of looting. This is some kind of creepy quest, where every minute there is a confrontation between good and evil, animal instincts and human consciousness.

Perhaps through watching such films, a person gains control over his fears and uncertainty, an adrenaline rush. It seems that when I have lived through a frightening situation, it no longer seems so terrible + due to the burst of adrenaline, part of the tension is relieved.

But in such films, I believe, there must be a moral and ethical basis. Violence should not look attractive and bode well; the image of the rapist does not need to be endowed with cynical charisma and omnipotence.

Each of us has a choice of which wolf to feed - black or white, and in order not to feed a black one, you first need to get to know, study, and then tame him.

The solution to the problem of the growth of aggressiveness, in my opinion, is in the introduction of prevention and mental hygiene, and you need to start from the school bench, because the fish rots from the head.
