Anna left home as soon as she finished school. Remained in the past is a small town, children's toys, as well as a strict mother who always knows "what's best." Now behind the shoulders of the capital institute, in the present - a wonderful career and eight years of marriage. But when her mother calls, Anna's mood spoils for several days. When mom comes to visit for a week, Anna again feels like a helpless girl next to her, who has to walk on line and report on every step. She breaks down on innocent colleagues and on her own husband - it’s very wild and scary to feel like a toy in the hands of an incomprehensible force, forcing to again be that “me” from which she had long fled.

Anna really wants to have children, but for some reason “it doesn’t work out”, although the doctors do not find any help either from her or from her husband. This means - the reason is in mental trauma, very ancient, long forgotten. Anna never wants to become the same as her mother, but how else - she doesn't know, she didn't teach, she didn't show. She left her for a long time, thousands of kilometers away, lives her own life, in no way depends on her. In any case, she herself is sure of it.

Lena divorced her husband six years ago. She does not communicate with her “ex” - he is in the past for her. She has a full-fledged, eventful life even without him: she has a favorite business, wonderful friends. For several months she has been dating a man. And before that I met with one more. And before him - with one more … In a conversation with her friends, Lena often recalls the moment when the “ex” told her that he did not need her anymore, that he had two friends - younger, prettier and smarter than her. But once he wore on his hands, said that there was no one better than her. To tell the truth, she didn’t like him that much, she did him, one might say, a favor, that she got married - and so he “thanked” him! But now it’s funny for her to even remember all this, let him do what he wants, she doesn’t care.

Only friends can no longer hear this story, with the same intonations, like a jammed record. And for some reason she casually compares all her men with the “former” - they are younger, more beautiful, and smarter. True, the relationship with them does not last longer than several months, but they are recorded in the most detailed way on Facebook - "a romantic dinner in a restaurant", "a picnic in the park with a loved one", "morning coffee after a crazy night." Yes, the “former” has been banned for a long time, but there are many common acquaintances with him, since they work in the same area.

Anton changed several jobs and could not get along with his superiors anywhere. He came across exclusively tyrants, who did not understand anything about leadership, who were not able to clearly set the task, appreciate their subordinates and provide decent working conditions. But Anton was one of the best on the course when he studied, he is well-versed in the most difficult disciplines and he always had excellent relations with teachers. Anton comes to the conclusion that employment is not for him. The leaders are exclusively selfish, but narrow-minded losers, such bright and talented as Anton, they hate and suppress. Anton decides to go freelance

But even here a terrible discovery awaits him - all the customers with whom he has to communicate turn out to be stupid, unable to clearly set the task, want to get a huge amount of work in unrealistic terms and for three kopecks. They do not care about his talent, brilliant mind and other merits. What else to expect from selfish, envious losers?

All three of our heroes are confident that they are done with their past, which did not suit them. Anna - with her dependence on a super-strict mother, Lena - with a grudge against her cheating husband, Anton - with dependence (again) on stupid tyrant bosses. But why does the past haunt them, like the ghosts from a horror movie? Moreover, this is noticeable to everyone around, except for our heroes themselves.
