If the activity is in the zone of the figure, we will be effective. If we are trying to implement tasks that are in the background, then we will not be effective. Because the figure still comes out on top and "eats" what we are doing.
So, for example, if we quarreled with a loved one, all our thoughts are in this place. Our need for love, recognition, respect and relationship is key. We can return ourselves to work as much as we like and force ourselves to think about it, but there will be no efficiency. Because we do not live in the process of work, now we live in a relationship.
Don't be fooled
If you are doing something that does not fit the zone of your need, you have failed.
It remains to understand where the needs come from and what are they?
Most of our needs are conceptual. This is what we spied on from other people. This is what success coaches and authors of books exploit. Ideas about what a happy life should be are passed from head to head. The problem is that we may not need what someone else has, but there is another need that reacts with envy.
For example, there is a need for recognition, and we envy the author of a book that has become popular. This does not mean that you need to write a book without feeling any buzz from the writing process. But you can do a great show, give a good lecture, or make a cool movie.
The most important thing is to ask yourself the question "what I want", not "what needs to be done to get what I envy."
Only by realizing our needs, we can understand desires - to bring out our figure, where there is the most energy. Then the activity will bring fulfillment, a feeling of life and a thrill. And this is the only way to check whether our desire is real or spied on.
And there are difficulties here
First, we will never know for sure whether our desire really belongs to us. In the case of real energy, doubts will always prevail. After all, the energy is in what I want, and not in what is right. And since we do not know whether what we are doing is right, we cannot get rid of doubts.
Second, we do not predict how long this desire will be relevant. It can be energized for a day, a week, or a year. The figure may not be relevant forever and certainly not for life, as success trainers say, advising you to set a goal for yourself, create a dream and go towards it.
The figure is changing. Thus, some needs are ahead of others and require our attention elsewhere. So our effectiveness fluctuates on whether we return ourselves to our intended goal, or truly understand what we need.
By listening to ourselves, asking ourselves questions and being aware of our figure and background, we come closer to what is the efficiency, energy and success of what we do. But this path is much more difficult than following someone else's success. And the easiest way to go this way is in the program of psychotherapy.
