Good afternoon dear friends!
Today I would like to discuss with you everyday concepts, i.e. such concepts that it is better not to use in psychotherapy, since in themselves they say little about nothing and only hang some labels on a person.
What concepts can they be? For example, laziness, greed …
What other everyday concepts do you know? I would be grateful if you would describe why you consider these concepts to be commonplace and give examples of suitable substitutions.
In the meantime, I will say a few words about greed.
What can we say about a person if such a label is stuck to him? Yes, practically nothing. It's just that something is so negative and that's it. And how is greed manifested? For example, a person saves money all the time, tries not to spend it, therefore he is greedy. Is it logical? It is logical, but, again, little is clear.
Why doesn't he spend? Why save? As with laziness, which I already wrote about in my notes, it is important to study a person's motivation. It is important to understand what these savings give him, why he is trying to save money. You can understand by asking a person! It is quite possible that money for him is some kind of symbol of security, therefore their presence gives confidence in the future.
Good! But here you can continue to study. Why is it so unsafe that he tries not to spend at all? What is so afraid of? Did he have something like this before, some difficult situation in life that he fears to get into? Or did his parents or ancestors have such a situation and the person simply adopted the way of thinking and acting from them, adopted and perceived it uncritically? You can ask a lot of questions on this topic. Great topic for study.
Well, it seemed that everything was so simple that he was just greedy, and that's it! And not everything is so simple in fact!
So, it is important to be attentive to other labels as well. It is important to disclose and study all incomprehensible or too, as it seems, understandable and obvious concepts, which at the everyday level, it seems, do not require explanation, cause the illusion of complete understanding.
I look forward to your feedback, I look forward to your examples!
I hope that by joint efforts we will make the world more understandable and people more tolerant of each other!

Do Our Beliefs Affect Our Feelings?
How do our beliefs affect feelings and how they are expressed? Do feelings change under the influence of beliefs? Our beliefs affect our feelings. A person interacts with the world through sensations - this is how we receive signals from real life (through eyes, ears, scent, etc.
Are Our Habits Our Lives?
Often, habits are contrasted with the conscious choice of an adult to do something or not to do something. On the one hand - there is truth in this - we are free to choose and control our actions. On the other hand, if we controlled our every action, every thought, every choice, we would constantly be in a situation of stress and heightened anxiety, since there are a lot of external stimuli in life.
What We Invest In Our Relationship With Our Children. Real Case From Practice
The therapist explained what was required of the group. In general, everything was simple - the one who wants to discuss his problem, sits with a psychotherapist in the center of the circle and, in fact, discusses, the rest listen, then speak out.
Say A Word About A Poor Parent Or What We Bring To Our Relationship With Our Children From Our Childhood
Our ideas about the upbringing of children stem not so much from pedagogical and psychological literature as from our childhood experience. From those relationships that we developed with our own parents. We can relate to this in different ways:
Our Future Is In Our Hands As Well As In Our Thoughts. Affirmations
What is affirmation? Affirmation is a short statement phrase that, when repeated many times, fixes the required image or setting in the subconscious of a person. Affirmations use the power of positive thinking to help us achieve our goals and are like little reminders within ourselves.
