Each psychologist has some "own" topic that arouses the greatest interest in him. For me, for example, this is development, movement forward, changes.
Recently, I have been drawing particular inspiration in this direction from myths, analytical psychologists and, of course, my clients. I noticed a strange thing - there is a serious difference between the universal human experience of living and initiating change and the way of moving forward, which persists in modern culture.
There are some features of experiencing life changes, which are reflected in myths, fairy tales, etc., and, in fact, reflect patterns the work of the human psyche.
So, a step forward, beyond the usual in your life, requires certain stages. Roughly speaking, they are as follows –1) awareness of a need that cannot be satisfied in the “familiar world,” 2) an increase in discomfort, 3) an accumulation of resources, 4) a breakthrough, 5) first successes, 6) a period of fear, loneliness, longing for the same calmness, doubts, 7) then again a jerk and 8) finding what you want.
At the same time, reflecting on my own idea of change and exploring the idea of change in my clients, I realized that there is a very persistent image of ideal development, which is powerfully supported by all sorts of things like “if it didn't go right away, then it’s not yours”, “others have everything easy and simple, but mine is not so”and so on. That, they say, there is some secret secret of simple cardinal changes. The ideal looks like this: he went beyond the usual and flew - smoothly, beautifully, with inexhaustible inspiration and strength. At the same time, in modern fiction and cinema, changes are still illustrated according to the archetypal principle with all the stages described above, but the image of ideal changes does not become weaker, but on the contrary is presented almost as the most natural course of things. If we compare it with digestion, it is as if the stage of getting rid of digested food is rejected, for example …
Those. Despite all the experience of the collective unconscious and our own life, many of us have a very tough idea that real changes occur without stage 6 at all - a period of fear, loneliness, longing for the former calmness, doubts.
So, why am I actually writing all this?))
In general, the stage of fear, sadness, doubt and loss of strength is completely natural in the process of developing "new territories", and it only says that you have already advanced further on your way!
And the answer to the question of how easy it is to change and change is not at all)): P

Illusion In Therapy: "I Will Change And The World Will Change"
Somewhere in the therapy came the myth that if I “work out” and change, then the whole world around me will change and everything in my life will automatically become good by itself. There is some truth in this, but things are not quite what many people think.
