For some time I have been actively working with the topic "Archetypes and Shadows" both in client requests and in my own. Some developments began to appear. I want to share. Perhaps you will find something interesting for yourself.

At the first meeting, I perceived the Curmudgeon simply as a "greedy" who does not know how to give and accumulates something, hides something. But the Shadow was revealed differently. Yes, the Curmudgeon "squeezes". But what?

What is the Curmudgeon greedy about in a relationship?

No, this is not about the fact that a person does not know how to give and only takes. It would be too easy.

The curmudgeon is greedy of himself. Doesn't make contact with itself. Doesn't give himself up in a relationship. Doesn't open up his feelings and doesn't open at all. At the same time, at the event level, he can manifest himself as a very diligent, caring and sacrificial partner. But his soul is closed. And the energy of love does not flow through him. The curmudgeon is generally about energy (and bodily) tightness - as if an evil witch turned a person into stone and he froze in a very uncomfortable position. For example, a woman can be a good housewife, an obedient wife, and everything would be fine, but with her it is “cold”, as if there is no life, spark, joy, love in her, no presence, only formality.

What is the Curmudgeon greedy for in work and creativity?

Again - yourself. Those. he works a lot. And it seems to be giving all the best. But he does not bring himself and his inner treasures into the process. A curmudgeon can know a lot and be able to, have a lot of creativity, but not realize it. He may have ideas on how to develop the business, but he will sit in a corner and do routine calculations. He may be a talented artist, but not paint at all or paint on the table. And he could please the world with his creativity. He can be a psychologist, repeater, healer, etc., whose inner bins are bursting with accumulated knowledge and skills, natural and developed abilities by his labor, but he sits with a gray mouse, and could conduct seminars useful for people. Those. the world, people need his knowledge and talents. But he "squeezes" them.

What is the Curmudgeon greedy about in the context of money?

Yes, myself again. He can find money for anything and everyone. Except yourself. And the cash flow itself, and in general the flow of resources, is "frozen", the resources are lying, swamped, they have no use. This and all sorts of stories about "for a rainy day" as well. A person may have money, but he does not invest it in himself. Something "useful" - perhaps, but pleasant - definitely not. Money and resources do not circulate; as a result, the flow gradually dries up.

Who is this Curmudgeon and how did he come about?

The Curmudgeon was once an ordinary living person. But in his life there was a situation in which he had to "hold on", "hold on" and it was impossible to show his weakness, his feelings. The curmudgeon tensed, hid all his worries and froze to cope with this difficult situation. And then he remained frozen. Perhaps in childhood he was greatly offended or even beaten at home and at the same time it was impossible even to cry, the only way was to "freeze", not to feel and not to appear. Perhaps he survived the death of someone close and did not allow himself to come into contact with grief. For example, a woman could survive the loss of her husband, but not allow herself to become limp with children. Or the children, so as not to upset their mother, “held fast” after the loss of their father.

The curmudgeon can seem very hardy, patient, strong, resilient. But he is very tense and in his life there is no joy, pleasure, relaxation, warmth, freedom, lightness, air, light, space, movement, fluidity, energy of life. What is there? There are huge inner riches - a very great potential of love and tenderness, many talents, accumulated knowledge and skills. And also a lot, a lot of pain, loneliness and fear. The fear of letting go of yourself, allowing yourself to feel, allowing yourself to manifest.

What the Curmudgeon Needs?

In creating a security space. In very soft and gentle, but firm support. In the gradual thawing and living of the senses. In the gradual acceptance of the right to be and manifest. Gradually accepting your weakness and your strength. Curmudgeon, like any Shadow, is trauma. An injury that can be healed.
