Wake up the child …

If you have a romantic video sequence about squeezing, smiling and hugging in your head, then one of three things:

  1. You do not have kids.
  2. They don't go to school yet.
  3. Your child loves to get up early.

You better not read any further, otherwise the romantic image of the child's awakening will be destroyed.

But if you are one of the parents who feel awe, chills, or sighs when using the phrase “wake up the child”, welcome to the club. You are not alone.

It is often very difficult to wake up children in the morning, almost impossible

What tricks parents do not go to. Both bribery (cartoons, sweets, various promises) and threats (depriving cartoons, sweets and other bonuses, pouring cold water in bed, leaving without breakfast, etc.) are used. Yes, you know - waking up a child is not when he woke up, but when he got out of bed. After all, a very long time can pass between these two events.

And you probably don't know what worked, but lo and behold! - your precious child finally got out of bed. But this is not the end of your torment, but only the beginning

After all, you also need to get ready for school: get dressed, have breakfast. And happiness if the child managed to pack a backpack and prepare clothes for the evening. Or you managed to do it for him. And if not?

  • "Lets go faster!"
  • "How long can you mess around?"
  • "You move like a sleepy fly!"
  • “You to school! You're late!”
  • "I have to go to work, I have an important meeting!"
  • “You're holding me back! You don’t think about me at all!”
  • Add your option

With each phrase, your inner tension grows, your voice becomes louder and more emotional. Result? Zero.

Although no, there is a result. You don't start to boil, trying with the last bit of strength to contain your emotions. And the child … How lucky. At this time, the child has either already boiled, wasting time screaming and searching for answers that are successful in his opinion, or … slowly and meditatively continues his morning rituals, paying attention to your words … no attention.

Is there a way to change the situation?

Try to introduce just a few simple rules into your life and your morning will change in an amazing way.

Wake up your child 30-60 minutes early

What for? You will save a huge amount of nerves for yourself and your child.

First, it means more wake-up time. This cannot be changed immediately. There is no universal magic button to help you get it done faster. And if there is, then it is very individual, which you will have to look for together with your child. In the meantime, the long wake-up time just needs to be added to the gathering time. This will allow you to calmly get ready later, without unnecessary haste.

Secondly, this is more time for morning preparations

Most children cannot get together as quickly and focused as adults. This is fine. Just give them more time. Of course, it is better to do some things in the evening: folding the backpack, preparing and ironing things, looking for a second sock and a handle that fell behind the sofa. But this is not always possible and not for everyone. Just give them time to pack up more slowly.

Give your child something to get up for

“We must get up” - does not work with children.

Why might your child want to get up? Is the right question.

It can be reading a favorite book, but only if he loves to read. Or chatting with you over a cup of tea. Any hobby will do too. But not TV, telephone and candy - they will not be enough as an incentive for a long time. In addition, these "stimuli" will overexcite the child's nervous system, causing in the long term the effect opposite to the desired one. Let it be something real, lively, arousing interest and joy - like communication, reading or a quiet hobby. Let the morning pass in peace and tranquility. This will energize both you and your child for the whole day.

Find something for which you will get up yourself

Raising others is much easier than raising yourself. But there is a difference between educating and lecturing. As long as you tell your child how wonderful it is to get up early, how useful it is and are looking for stimuli for him - this is theory, "notation." Upbringing is primarily a personal example.

For me, morning is a time of silence and relaxation, a time to be alone with oneself, a time of charging and meditation, a time of tea drinking and reading, a time of creativity and inspiration. Think about what the morning can be for you? And what can the morning be for you and your child?

Stop rushing

When you are in a hurry, you do not act. When you are nervous, the child also becomes nervous. Stop being nervous. After all, it won't be faster anyway. It's just that the relationship will be worse. Take it easy. You will get up a little earlier tomorrow. And wake up the child a little earlier. Find your morning packing time. It should be such that everyone in your family remains calm. Even if they were sleepy, but calm.

Go to bed a little earlier

To get enough sleep, you need not sleep longer, but go to bed earlier. Sleeped people are safer and happier. But for now, this is theory for you. How to translate it into practice? Set your alarm. Or a storage room? In general, set the sleep timer signal. Of course, not just before bedtime, but better - in an hour. Remind yourself that it's time for your evening sleep ritual. And let it really be a ritual that includes not only brushing your teeth, but also communicating with your family before bed: reading or discussing the emotions of the day, a special family goodbye for the night, and necessarily - a strong hug. They, like sleep, also make people happier.

Make your own rule

Being a parent is creativity. And labor. And great, great joy. And labor again. Above yourself, first of all. Especially early in the morning.

Good morning to you!
