Once the decision to take care of yourself is made, you need to reconsider and prioritize. Self-respect should be high on the to-do list.

To ensure the safety of the child, the mother herself must be in a resourceful state. The child has only one mother, so you need to take care of yourself.

I like the phrase that the flight attendants repeat on the plane “First we put on the oxygen mask on ourselves, and then on the child”. This is a metaphor for motherhood without wasting.

The main problem of burnout, I see, is the rhythm into which we drive ourselves. We live as if a mad dog is constantly chasing us, and if it stops, it will bite.

How can I help myself?

📌 WISH LIST

I always recommend keeping a wish list in addition to a to-do list. Write down important things on the to-do list, and on the wish-list something that you enjoy and that gives you strength.

Do not try to do all the important things in one day. Do only the most necessary, think about what you can not do at all, cancel or reschedule for later.

Do a little joy for yourself every day so that your soul energy is constantly replenished. Each item on your wish list is something that rejuvenates you.

📌 LEARN TO RELAX

We are good at work and poor at relaxation, few of us were taught this by our parents. But to have time to remake a thousand and one business - here we are the first.

I have worked out a strategy for myself - for every 2 hours of work, there should be 10-15 minutes of rest. No matter what I do, write text or clean the apartment, I rest every 2 hours.

Everyone rests in different ways, for someone it is enough to change activities, for someone it is important to lie down in silence with closed eyes or drink coffee. It is important that these breaks become a habit.

📌 EXAMPLE FOR A CHILD

Children learn everything from us. An example of self-respect is how you can teach your child to take care of themselves, rest on time, and not overwork.

By doing something enjoyable together, you teach your child to enjoy life, to be attentive to their needs. Children unconsciously absorb our attitude towards themselves and towards life.

Many people think that taking care of yourself means lying on the couch all day and doing nothing. This is the other extreme, believe me, people prone to overwork are not in danger.

📌 Bring it to life

The child sleeps during the day - do not get busy, rest, maybe even sleep together.

Children are watching cartoons - use this time to relax.

Do not follow your child's heels during the day picking up the scattered toys. This is annoying and exhausting. It's easier to do this quickly at the end of the day.
