I’ll list the main symptoms of burnout, then figure out how to help yourself.

📌 HOW OUR BODY RESPONDS:

  • chronic fatigue, feeling tired even after a night's sleep;
  • there is no physical and mental strength, as if you were squeezed like a lemon;
  • reactions are dulled, you can hit the corner of the bed and not notice;
  • general weakness, decreased activity and energy, lethargy, apathy;
  • suffering from insomnia or waking up in the morning and cannot sleep;
  • you think badly, forget or confuse the names of objects;
  • dizziness, shortness of breath even with little physical exertion;

📌 HOW OUR PSYCHE RESPONDS:

  • get annoyed over trifles, react inappropriately to the situation;
  • there are nervous breakdowns, outbursts of anger at loved ones;
  • become indifferent, passive, everything seems boring;
  • depressive notes appear, a state of depression;
  • often experience feelings of guilt, resentment, shame, suspicion;
  • constantly worry and anxious, a feeling that "something is wrong";
  • it seems that you are the only one responsible for everything, the responsibility for the family is on you;
  • constant fear that you are not doing anything or are not coping;

📌 WHAT HAPPENS TO THE RELATIONSHIP:

  • I want to close, to be alone, communication with other people is exhausting;
  • avoid meeting with acquaintances, girlfriends, other mothers;
  • the daily routine changes noticeably, you pay less and less attention to the child;
  • occupy yourself with household chores, avoiding communication with the child;
  • failing to fulfill important, priority tasks for the child;
  • move away from your partner, become picky and critical;
  • constantly quarrel, relations with a partner become cold;
  • emotional and physical closeness disappears from relationships;

How to live in a state of emotional burnout, how to restrain emotions, how to control yourself and not break down on loved ones, how to learn to relate more easily and not worry about conflicts in the family?

In a state of exhaustion, none of this is possible. These are daunting tasks for an overworked body and psyche. The first thing to do is to feel sorry for yourself, not to stand over your soul with a whip, and not to demand the impossible from yourself.

Irritability and “breakdowns” on loved ones are a “wake-up call” signaling severe fatigue. As soon as you hear it, start consciously taking care of yourself in order to recuperate.

📌 HOW TO HELP YOURSELF

1. Revising the family system

2. Setting priorities

3. Reducing anxiety, guilt and perfectionism

4. Learning to take care of ourselves

Treat burnout like a disease. When you are sick and feel bad, you need peace, a sparing regimen and a respectful attitude towards yourself.
