Here's a technique for you to get to know yourself better and understand something important.

The technique is performed in 3 stages.

STEP 1. WHAT I KNOW ABOUT MYSELF

1. Take a piece of paper. Divide it in half (vertically and horizontally).

2. Then write down your qualities in the left column:

- above, indicate "positive", those that you like in yourself, and

- from below (in the second half) - "negative" (those qualities that you do not accept / do not like in yourself, with which you try to fight, you are ashamed).

Note: try to write as many qualities as possible, preferably at least 20 (no matter how many positive and negative ones they contain).

3. After you have written down the qualities, look closely at them. Cross out with a PENCIL those qualities that are antonyms. For example, "hardworking - lazy" (delete both qualities).

4. You still have uncrossed qualities. Write down their antonyms in the right column. For example, the left column has the quality "responsible". Write opposite it in the right antonym "irresponsible" (or whatever comes to mind). And so go over all the uncrossed words.

5. Set this piece of paper aside.

STEP 2. WHAT I KNOW ABOUT OTHERS

1. Get a new, blank sheet of paper. Divide it in half with a vertical line.

2. Think of those people you like, whom you admire. Write down in the left column the qualities that you value in these people you admire and those that you yourself would like to have.

3. Now remember those people for whom you have unpleasant feelings (rejection, disgust, neglect, anger / irritation, etc.) and write down in the right column the qualities that you do not accept in them.

STEP 3. WHAT I DO NOT KNOW ABOUT MYSELF

1. Place sheet 1 (main) and sheet 2 (work) in front of you.

2. Carefully review sheet # 1 and the qualities indicated in it (in all columns). Now correlate the qualities of sheet # 1 with the qualities of sheet # 2.

Your task is to cross out with a pencil those qualities that are common to them.

Cross out on both sheets.

3. Now pay attention to those qualities that were not crossed out on sheet number 2. Transfer them to sheet # 1. Attention! You only need to transfer to the right column. It is advisable to add below the categories "+" and "-".

4. After being moved. You can put aside sheet number 2 and leave only the main sheet in front of you.

5. Erase the selection with a pencil. Your portrait is ready!

In the left column - the qualities that you notice in yourself, you know, accept (sometimes with a stretch, but they are in the field of awareness).

And in the right column are those qualities that you do not accept in yourself - you do not see, do not know, or to which you do not have access at all. These qualities are often referred to as shadow qualities.

In addition, if you look at both sheets again, then you can notice the principle by which you choose your environment, accept or do not accept people.
