My article will help you by answering just four questions to start a weight loss program, because there is always a psychological reason behind being overweight. Of course, this does not mean that, having identified a psychological problem and solving it, the weight will go away by itself.

There will be no miracles, and in order to lose weight, it is necessary to adjust the diet and physical activity, and sometimes completely change the way of life. But by eliminating the psychological cause, you will remove the obstacle that prevents you from adhering to the system, leads to constant breakdowns and nullifies all your efforts.

Question 1.

What does my body protect me from?

Very often the body protects our psyche from meeting the reality that will bring unbearable pain. The body is ready to protect us at the cost of illness and injury. Have you ever heard the expression “this is not fat, this is a lifeline”? This is true, and in some cases excess weight becomes a real salvation.

Examples:

- Women who are victims of sexual violence can unknowingly get fat, so as not to arouse sexual interest, because sex is traumatic for them.

- Excess weight can protect a woman from the jealousy of an aggressive husband or partner.

- Excess weight is able to save a family and keep a husband, well, in fact, only a scoundrel can leave a fat, sick woman who is not needed by anyone.

- At work, excess weight protects against additional stress, because obese people are usually treated with condescension.

Having answered this question, it will be right to thank your body for the courage it showed in taking care of you, and in turn take care of it not with torturous diets and exorbitant loads, but with proper nutrition and a healthy lifestyle.

Why do I need extra weight?

It happens that excess weight is not a burden, but a value, because it satisfies our true needs. In psychology, this is called "secondary benefits"

Examples:

- Thanks to a powerful figure, a person increases his status and authority. His words become more powerful, it is impossible to ignore him.

- When you look at a magnificent female figure, it immediately becomes warm and comfortable. Thus, women create a reputation for hospitable hostess.

- Often overweight people unconsciously cause pity in others and get additional "buns": they give way to a place in transport, in the family they are in the position of a "sick" who needs to be helped and protected.

- Excess weight allows you not to change anything in life, because this is an excellent reason to justify life's failures, failure and others not …..

In a situation of secondary benefit, a person at the subconscious level simply does not want to lose weight.

Having answered this question, you need to find other, more environmentally friendly, ways to satisfy your true needs. And then the need for weight will disappear, and you will easily part with it.

What part of my life has overweight replaced me?

Excess weight is our part, and as you know from the principle of the preservation of being: nothing disappears without a trace and does not appear out of nothing. Accordingly, this part has replaced something else in our life.

Here, I think, it would be appropriate to cite personal experience. For a long time I was not given an answer to this question. But, as always, His Majesty Chance helped. In desperate attempts to catch the elusive answer, I took plasticine and began to crush it. I gave freedom to my hands while my head tried to find the answer. But as the great Jung said:

"Only hands know how to unravel what the mind is struggling with in vain."

When I looked at what my hands had done, the answer instantly came to me. In my palm sat the figure of a dog on a chain. I realized that in recent years I feel like I'm on a leash. And the weight gain just coincided in time with this feeling. My weight has replaced my freedom, I am no longer so light that I would flutter around the world in search of new experiences.

Having found the excluded part of your life, answer the question, is the replacement equivalent?

What will come to replace this part of me?

How will your life change after you gain a slim figure? This is a dream question. After working with the images, you can paint your new life. And if it is truly yours, the subconscious will accept it, and the body will gladly rush to the goal.

By removing the psychological obstacles on the way to harmony, the process of losing weight will become easy and enjoyable, and the results will not be long in coming.
