I have a delicious samos near the microwave. With tofu and spinach: I love everything. He seduces me in the morning, but I just can't get to him. While I finally ran to the kitchen to taste his aromatic barrel, I came up with an idea for this article. The words surrounded me with a strong siege, and I obediently went to the computer in order to share with the readers my vision of the psychology of weight loss (and I have something to share: to lose 40 kg of excess weight is not for you to draw the word WORLD on fences!)

It was only when I was writing the final sentence that I got the idea that five years ago Samos would have succeeded.

There are many approaches to weight loss: diet, gym, meditation, nutritional supplements, and long walks. With this diversity, the question remains: why can't you lose weight?

The psychological mood of a person determines how he lives, acts and perceives the world around him. Having lost exactly half weight, I look back and understand that the key to successful weight loss is in the head, not in the refrigerator.

No weight loss method will work if it is not fun for you. Sounds simple? But effective. It was not in vain that I mentioned the variety of approaches to working on the dream body. Inside each of us there is a psychological center that decides how we will relate to the problem. If excess weight seems to us disgusting, it is natural for us to curl up and grab ourselves by the "body" in front of the mirror, which serves as a confirmation of our own imperfection for us.

Losing weight begins in the head, and only then appears from the outside in the form of the desired result

A diet that helped your friend lose weight may not be right for you. You must understand that any compulsion causes rejection - it is a matter of time when it happens. This is the reason why diets do not work, or their effect is limited by very tight time frames.

Why lose weight for an important event, if you can find a dream figure and maintain it effortlessly throughout your life?

As a philologist, I like that in English there is no word “diet” in the sense in which we perceive it when we speak Russian. The word “diet” in English reflects a set of dietary habits that a person follows on a daily basis. This word describes a person's eating behavior, and not a short-term restriction in food, which representatives of beauty love to abuse before the New Year holidays.

I think it would be much better if we borrow from the English-speaking brothers the meaning they put into the word “diet” and put it at the very center of our perception.

Diet in the classic sense of the word makes us clench our fists harder. The short-term nature of the diet makes us happy because the diet we choose for two or three weeks is unacceptable and disgusting for us, and we can't wait to return to our native, familiar as soon as possible. The secret is to make healthy food familiar and familiar to oneself in such a way as to get pleasure from it - and then the need to exhaust your body with diets, writhing from hunger at a planning meeting, disappears from itself.

Find the food and sport you like

We all grew up in different conditions, communicated with different people and thought different thoughts. How, then, can we expect that Mrs X's “newfangled diet” will suit our particular situation, physiological characteristics and lifestyle?

Only I can know that dairy products give me bloating, and a plate of oatmeal for breakfast sticks to my physiomordia the expression “how I hate everything” for the rest of the day. Only I can know that I was the only girl in the class who trembled before the norm, where you need to jump over the goat - and only I remember how bitter it was to hide in the locker room while my athletic classmates were doing acrobatic stunts.

Two years ago, I discovered that I love bicycles. Bicycles turn me on from the inside. I love the way my long blonde hair flutters as I ride against the wind. I love the way in mid-August, large corn leaves rustle against my shoulders as I cut between plantings, and how my nose fills with the scent of wet foliage mixed with warm earthy scent as I pedal in October twilight - like a superhero racing to save humanity. …

Find your sport. It can be walking around the city - or maybe tennis.

Find your food. You love smoothies, right? But what if I told you that spinach, oatmeal, and even spirulina can be ground into a banana smoothie for heightened effect - and although you will not feel a change in taste, the effect of such a meal will be much more noticeable?

After all, the first bite is always the tastiest. Learn to enjoy and taste food. Listen to your body. When you feel that food has become tasteless, your body whispers to you: you are full. Stop!

And finally.

Losing excess weight does not change your life

Being overweight is not a ban on joy. Stop sweating. Let go and calm down. Love yourself right now, not some non-existent ideal self in the future. Let your body do everything for you.

Start living the life of your dreams now. You will be surprised to find that joyful non-weight loss activities are more engaging than emptying the refrigerator. One day, you miss your meal just because the guitar playing will take you so deeply that you won't be able to tear yourself away until you finish playing the final chord.

That the idea for the article will turn you into an obsessed professor banging on the keyboard - and let the food wait.
