What is your superpower?

If you know the answer to this question, you are already halfway to healing.

Why does a person with super-power of healing need something to hurt? I have a bad news. If there is a super-power, it means that a person has used it at least once. For some reason he needed her. He faced such circumstances that ordinary forces could not cope. And I had to collect everything I had in order to survive physically or mentally. And having super-strength is always a symmetrical possession of super-weakness.

The comics teach us that every super-hero has a vulnerability that the enemy can find to destroy him. But neither family nor school teaches us this. Therefore, when a person comes to a psychotherapist, he rarely understands what is wrong with him.

- I'm not doing it. I can't do anything. Fix me up so I can get on with it again.

- What you coped with is beyond human strength.

- Don't tell me stories. This is normal, people can cope with much more complex tasks. I'm just trying badly, how can I do so that I have the strength to try well?

The comics teach us that superheroes single-handedly do the kind of work that only a large number of ordinary people can do. If a person has super-strength, more often than not, this means that he is very lonely. Once he was forced to survive in a vacuum. Perhaps it was a lack of love or understanding on the part of the parents. And this, damn it, is a terribly difficult task for a new inhabitant of planet Earth - to survive when you have not managed to do anything in your short life, and you are no longer loved. Sometimes loneliness occurs where a person comes from a loving family - in a children's team, at work, in relationships full of abuse and humiliation from other people. Where trust in other people is destroyed, you have to rely only on yourself. And if a person survived in this, he has super-strength.

The good thing about the comics is that superheroes are aware of their vulnerability. The comic book authors are kind enough to give their hero, sooner or later, the key to what exactly he must cherish in himself in order to continue to live and delight his fans. Superpowers among living people rarely know about their vulnerability. Superman didn't go to a therapist when he was sick. He tried to take away green kryptonite from his enemies - a stone that slowly kills him and deprives him of strength. Ordinary people with super-strength have been taught for a long time to look for the source of problems in themselves.

If a person comes to a psychotherapist, this often means that he has ceased to cope alone. And this is already good. After some time, he may find out that the therapist also does not have a super-power and he cannot share it. And it gets even better. If you work further, the person meets his super-weakness. With the same pain that once made me a superhero. This is the hardest part of the job. Although there are people who start right away with it. But if you go through that too, super-weakness becomes an ordinary human vulnerability. Vulnerability means that a person has limitations and barriers and that a person is not ashamed to be just a person without the prefix "over".

And when vulnerability is found, when she is respected, as that part of the whole person who lives her unique life, when she gets a worthy place in the personality structure and shows how it helps people meet each other, interact, cooperate, love and trust, super-strength will no longer be needed. There will be just strength. And when there is little strength, a completely ordinary weakness will appear. Normal rest will begin to regain normal strength. Normal work will lead to normal fatigue. And an ordinary person may learn to experience ordinary happiness next to ordinary people. Without the obligatory need to save someone, it is imperative to save them or yourself.
