It's no secret for my friends and colleagues that lately I have been working a lot with people who are in the process of a career transition. A couple of weeks ago, I wanted to learn more about him - not through books and individual meetings, as usual, but through a short questionnaire (after all, I really miss research). To my surprise, there were a lot of people willing to take the survey - by the end of the day I already had about 30 completed questionnaires. And those who wish still continue to write to me.
The results are much more interesting than I thought.
What the respondents are most dissatisfied with in their current workplace is wages and a lot of stress at work. In third place is the work schedule. And only on the fourth - lack of interest in the field of activity. In general, I would like to note that the topic of money was featured very often - sometimes even more often than the topic of work pleasure. A sad display of the economic situation in the country
It is curious that the greatest difficulty in the transition process is created by internal factors - a lack of understanding of what I really want and self-doubt. Therefore, one of the most important points of dealing with a career crisis is learning to understand your own needs and working with self-esteem. Thanks to the results - they helped me put together a bunch of practical experience.)
Mainly finances keep it in its current place. Yes, that's right - the very salary with which the respondents are so unhappy. For example, phrases such as “at least some money”, “little, but stable”, “not enough, but I can plan” were heard
There are two things that scare you most in this career transition: what may not work out and what you may not like. And here it also resonated with me - the fear of error is very characteristic of our society, and in tandem with economic instability it creates a combustible mixture
But the support of other people helps to cope with the crisis almost unanimously - some have friends, some have a partner, some have parents. Someone gets most of the support from the therapist
What could be great help, but it is not / is not enough in the lives of the respondents is, again, financial stability and support from loved ones. And this last point almost sounds like a summary for the entire questionnaire
To summarize, in a career transition situation we really find ourselves between two fires. One part of us longs for "little, no pleasure, but stable", and the other - "favorite business, free schedule and work for ourselves." A separate surprise for me was the importance of the topic of money. I mean, no, I wasn't trying to diminish their importance, I just didn't expect it to be that big. And it is not customary to talk about them here. So it was decided - wait for the next poll on the topic of money.;)

8 Illusions That Prevent You From Achieving Results
In practical work with clients, I come across attitudes common to many people, which become an obstacle to change, and which can be circumvented by simply raising awareness of what is happening. 1. If it is hard for me to move and I put a lot of effort, then I go to the goal correctly.
