Have you ever met brooding girls with an otherworldly look? They may be inconspicuous at first glance, show no interest in a career, or in marriage, or in entertainment and fashionable hangouts - it is not at all clear what interests them. Nevertheless, looking into their eyes a little more closely, you will see there mysterious lights flickering with an unearthly light. Life is rich, exciting, full of risk and adventure. It's just that it is not visible to an ordinary external observer. Everything happens in a different dimension, not accessible to ordinary consciousness …

It can be considered a "flight from social life", but in this case, let us remember that a rich social life can also be a feud from oneself, from deeply hidden pain, insecurity, fears. Life on the other side of the ordinary is a kingdom of countless treasures that feed our souls, fill with meaning any external action that guides our steps in the right direction, the intuition of correct decisions and unobvious possibilities. But all this - if there is a bridge between these two worlds - internal and external, conscious and unconscious … earthly and underground.

Who lives underground but can come to the surface? For whom is the underworld a home, with a huge number of passages, caves with healing lakes and treasures with countless treasures? Who can be the guide between these two worlds? That's right, snakes. And their king is Poloz.

The serpent is wisdom and deceit, discernment and deception. He is endowed with the power of hypnosis, which cannot be resisted. He is the king of the underworld, the keeper of treasures. This is Eros and Thanatos rolled into one. His bite can be fatal, his love can transfer to another dimension, give unearthly bliss. It is not for nothing that they turn to the Snake in love conspiracies:

Such an abundance of contradictions attracts and frightens at the same time. It is not for nothing that so many fairy tales and legends, beliefs and rituals are associated with the snake

On June 12, Russia celebrated the "Serpentine" holiday. On this day, the snakes went out to earth to look for a mate, they were looking for a betrothed and the snake King - Poloz. Only his bride should be from the human world.

Therefore, if a girl comes out for water that day, Poloz will see her and she will like him - to be his betrothed to her. The next day the Serpent King sends matchmakers, and in the fall they play a wedding - the bride descends to him into the underworld, where she will live until the end of her days. Versions about her future fate diverge. According to some of them, in his kingdom the Serpent turns into a beautiful young man and his wife lives happily with him in full prosperity and gives birth to children, according to others, the matter ends with gloomy rituals with bloody sacrifices.

In the Lithuanian fairy tale "Egle - the Queen of Snakes", the snake bride lives happily with her husband (by the way, this time - not underground, but under water) until she overpowered her desire to go to the surface and visit her relatives. The treacherous brothers find out how to lure the Serpent out of the underwater kingdom and kill him so that Egle can stay with her family. Interestingly, Egle is not at all delighted with such an act - she turns into a pine tree, turns her sons into oak and ash, and her daughter into an aspen, not wanting to share shelter with the murderers of her husband. That is, there is a clear confrontation between the world of people and the underground (in this case, the underwater) kingdom. People are trying to return the Queen of Snakes to their home, but she no longer belongs to their world, she can only come to visit.

As you know, fairy tales - they are also from the category of underground, serpentine wisdom - not for nothing they are called collective dreams. What are these "dreams" talking about, where in the center of the plot is the conclusion of a marriage between an earthly woman and the Serpent?

This is a contract between the world of people and the "other" world, the underground. This is how these two worlds recognize, nourish and hold each other. With that space, which in shamanism is called the "lower world"

Any imbalance, even in one or the other direction, does not bode well. Going to the underworld is a constant stay in the world of dreams and fantasies, ignoring reality. Departure exclusively into earthly life is superficiality, loss of meaning, exhaustion, mechanistic existence.

But let's return to our heroine - a girl with an otherworldly look and a rich inner life with an almost complete absence of an external, social one. Obviously, she is - "Poloz's bride", or rather - already his wife - in the modern version. It belongs to a greater extent to the "underground", unconscious world than to the earthly, everyday one.

Relatives and girlfriends are very worried about her fate. They try to arrange her for a promising job in every possible way (because she works here and there - it is not clear who), to introduce her to a good person to create a family (otherwise her boyfriends are completely unpromising, and in general there is a great suspicion that they are all - her fictional friends). But, to their great regret, the girl does not show the slightest interest in all these proposals. In this case, a girl can be 20, 30, 40 … By the way, she always looks surprisingly young, equally well preserving the freshness of the skin and perception.

Let's remember Egle - she wanted to see her relatives, to stay in the world of people, but she had no intention of returning here forever. So is this our girl. Yes, she appreciates communication, loves from time to time to "go out to people", but … do not try to make her "like all normal people" - she is already doing well!

Well, now, to see another facet of this mysterious, otherworldly person, let's turn to Greek mythology and analytical psychology. Adepts of this direction will say that in such a girl the archetype of Persephone - the queen of the underworld is strongly expressed. And I will specifically note that here I will only talk about that aspect of this multifaceted archetype, which is associated with the mediation between the earthly and "lower" worlds.

Interestingly, this archetype has two hypostases - Cora (Virgo) and Persephone (Queen of the underworld)

Cora is an eternal girl, she has no career ambitions, is not interested in marriage. Rather, he shows interest in tantric practices, including the rise of kundalini (again, the Snake), than in marriage and family life. He can be content with very modest conditions of material life, walk in the same clothes for many years and do without repairs even when plaster starts to fall from the ceiling, but at the same time spend all the money on books, herbal teas, amulets, Tarot cards and other "magic items ".

We can say that Cora is the earthly aspect of the Runner's Wife. For people, she remains a not growing up girl - dreamy, naive, gullible and devoid of ambition. If other archetypes are very poorly developed, she is doomed to be an inconspicuous "gray mouse" with a rich inner world that no one knows about. She will write beautiful stories or music exclusively for her diary, which is read by two friends and an accidentally wandering dude, and the meaning of her works will remain a mystery to them. She will secretly fall in love with a senior manager from a nearby department or a poet from the last century. Under the earth, time does not exist, and neither does the difference between dreams and reality. She will live every night the fascinating stories of numerous dreams and the impressions from all this will be enough for the gray and monotonous everyday life.

The second aspect - Persephone - is a wise and self-sufficient keeper of the knowledge that is difficult to translate into words and images. She is also a conductor between the worlds, capable of helping in communication with the dead, healing from serious illnesses, correcting wrong steps, erroneous decisions … In earthly language, she can be an artist or a writer, whose works will touch very deep strings in the soul of readers or viewers, a singer or an actress and, of course, a psychologist, a guide to the innermost secrets of the human soul, leading to oneself, the most important and powerful resources. Yes, in the human world, she will be the same “mystery woman” with an otherworldly light in her eyes, but at the same time her talents will not remain buried deep underground along with her whole life. She is unlikely to want to become a socialite or run a corporation, she will not be inspired by the idea of surrounding herself with a crowd of fans or having numerous offspring. But she will be able to realize herself in her career, in relationships, and in any other area - as much as she needs. Her earthly, daytime life will be no less vivid and intense than the underworld of dreams, fantasies and imagination. Opportunities and resources from the underworld will turn into actions and achievements of the earthly world. And - not only for her, but for many others - for everyone to whom she will become a guide.

- Do not try to remake yourself, equating yourself with "normal", earthly women. It is especially important for you to do only what your heart lies in.

- Let there be a creative impulse in the beginning, from the world of dreams and imagination - then think about how this can be translated into reality. Do not grab onto external ideas that are in vogue, trend, or imposed by some "well-wishers".

- Develop communication skills, self-presentation, develop business qualities, make useful connections - again, when the embodiment of your creative idea is behind it.

- Stay forever young, open and careless. But learn to keep boundaries, understand people, and wear masks when needed.

- The main thing is to be yourself. Remember - you are no less important and valuable to this world than a successful businesswoman or a sedate mother of a family. And in some ways - even much more!
