Systemic family constellations are one of the most profound methods of group psychological assistance. Allows the client to see his situation and its elements in dynamics, to understand its causes and find a solution.
It is possible to work with issues of personality harmonization, internal balance, personal and family relationships, psychosomatics, financial flow, generic dynamics, situations of choice, healing of mental pain.
The group includes: a therapist who leads the constellation; the client whose request is being processed; deputies are a group of people who help simulate a situation.
Each of the participants gains valuable experience, regardless of whether he came in the role of a client, or a substitute. The processes occurring during constellations trigger internal psychological processes.
Why are constellations valuable?
In the constellation process, through the work of the field and surrogates, something is manifested that in ordinary therapy can go out of the focus of attention.
The usual standards do not work here: how should it be and why is it not? After all, formal logic does not always work in real life. The fate of a person is more complicated than the linear "born-married-died".
A person lives by body, feelings, mind. Perceives the world and manifests itself. He finds himself in a situation of choice, acting in the best possible way, based on personal experience, level of knowledge, skills and capabilities. Makes informed decisions and not so much.
In constellation work, key phenomena, internal meanings and connections, their importance for the client and his fate are manifested. It is working with a personal context at a deep level.
With the help of a therapist and a group of substitutes, you can explore something hidden and important, find the necessary and timely solutions. It is easier to go into feelings and experience them. The request is being processed "in volume".
By touching the experience and personal history of the client, all members of the group are enriched. This is the uniqueness and value of the constellations.
How does the placement work?
1. The group consists of a therapist, client and substitute participants.
2. The client speaks briefly about his request. The therapist asks several leading, clarifying questions.
3. The therapist identifies the key figures in the request and asks the client to select substitutes for these roles from the participants present.
4. The client appoints each deputy and slowly arranges them in space as he feels they should be relative to each other.
5. Next, the therapist conducts work: he asks the deputies about their feelings, the client sits nearby and looks attentively. The therapist can ask questions to the client and substitutes.
6. There is a movement of substitutes, important meanings and feelings of the client are manifested, which may not have been previously realized.
7. Through a series of processes, the therapist reaches the key event or feeling that influenced the situation.
8. On the last speakers, the client enters the field and works with the participants to gain experience with the solution.
9. Completion of the placement. The client films roles and receives feedback from the therapist.
The processes launched in the constellations continue to work and unfold in the client's real life for some time. During this period, the client can seek support from a therapist.
