From the point of view of William Glassser (the founder of Reality Therapy), every person has a need for love, even a tiny one, but still there. To love means to “give” attention, warmth, tenderness to the object of love. Give him your time. Take care of him, wish him well.

The child can be covered with a blanket for the night, tell a fairy tale. Husband is delicious to feed. Call my mother and spend half an hour listening to her complaints about health, neighbors, Nyurka. Wish the "former" happiness in a new relationship. Take a walk with the dog, play with the cat. Watering a flower … By definition, you can ONLY love living objects.

To love money means to revive it (against the background of devaluation of people and relationships). Endow money with the ability of free will and conscious choice. Here Petya "loves" money, but not Vasya. At the same time, it is obvious that Petya and Vasya are NOT living objects (they have no will and choice in relation to money). In this "logic" Vasya for some reason turns out to be powerless in the face of his dislike for money. At the same time, not only Vasya suffers, but also any person who "loves" money very much, but they DO NOT reciprocate.

In fact, money can neither love nor not love. These are just colored candy wrappers to facilitate the exchange process. Someone probably remembers how in childhood we exchanged candy wrappers … Those who survived the nineties at a conscious age remember how difficult it was to give people a salary. This was the era of barter and complex exchange chains. Those people who were paid a salary with pots or furniture were very lucky. Nobody needs money

Would you drink enough instead of fresh water? Would you cover your nakedness with ringing ducats? Would you make a soft feather bed out of them for a sweet dream? Would you protect yourself from wild animals?

Every person has the most common needs. And all people need is to satisfy their needs. Money is a good tool that can satisfy most of them, but not all of them. For example, in modern society, the more money, the better, more and better food, clothing, living conditions and recreation.

Money is correlated with dignity

More money means more feeling of your own strength and freedom. Only the dependence here is the opposite: the more responsibility, strength and significance, the more money. The amount of money in your hands (pockets and bank accounts) is directly related to your personal worth.

There was such a story in my life. The price of the consultation was 1400 rubles per hour. I then rented the office by the hour (400 rubles for the same hour). A young man came to the reception, complained for a long time about the girl who left him. I really wanted to return it, otherwise it is very expensive to use the services of prostitutes. By the end of the second hour, he had an insight, or perhaps an epiphany or even the fashionable word "insight." With joy, relief and a plan to rectify the situation, he parted with me. But here's the bad luck: he only had money to pay for one hour of my work. I took 1400, paid for room 800, and I have 600 rubles left in my hands for 2 hours of work. I looked at it and said to myself: "I, with three higher educations, training and internships abroad, twenty years of experience, cannot receive less than a prostitute for my work!" After all, the price of my consultation is the price of my life, a whole hour of my life! And I can use this time for my rest, communication with people close to me, or … to create results in the lives of my clients.

Make a difference - get a reward

Money is the price of the value you create in the lives of others. People are ready to pay for the result, for a qualitative change. Someone once decided that your sleep would be better on an orthopedic mattress. Therefore, you do not want to sleep on a mat, but are ready to shell out a salary, or maybe even more than one for a bed with a good mattress.

Of course, I understand that contemporaries were blinded by the "Yeltsin years", when the national property created for decades was "grabbed" by dodgers. There was a feeling that you can have a lot of money without doing anything. Network companies still lure into their networks with the idea: work for a few years, and then, when you get rich, you can do nothing, just smoke bamboo under a palm tree.

There is a good anecdote about a Thai and a Chinese on this topic:

They lie on the beach. The Chinese says: look, the mangoes are ripe. Let's collect it, take it to the city, sell it.

- What for? - the Thai asks him.

- Well, why? Let's make money. Then we will sell one more crop, we will earn some more. We will have a lot of money. We will buy a villa and a yacht. We can lie and do nothing!

In my life there are hundreds of such stories … It's nice when people call from Israel, Germany, Switzerland, America and start a conversation with the words "you were recommended to me." People are ready to look for time to meet with me and pay money for the opportunity to become happy, to move to a qualitatively new level of life.

Money is where responsibility is

There was a period in my life when I worked as a chief accountant. My salary was high. The years were brutal (nineties). In those years, accountants were paid not so much for work as for responsibility. Since then, little has changed …

For example

  • The man made an appointment and was 30 minutes late. How many business partners do you think he will have if he always comes at the wrong time?
  • He promised to do some work in an hour and a half, after 8 hours it turned out that he had not done it or had done it as a formality. And so he regularly breaks deadlines, does not comply with agreements, does not keep his word?
  • Tells about the situation in his life: “We worked as a team, did a big project. I let everyone down, we lost a lot of money and time. I am ashamed". But this is not about shame and not about guilt. It's about irresponsibility. About the fact that people, their work and time, relations with them - have no value or value. By devaluing others, a person devalues himself, his contribution to the common cause, the value of every hour of his life.

If you want money, expand your area of responsibility

People are often indignant, why does the loader get 20 thousand, and the director 200? Yes, that's right, the loader directly creates the difference: for example, he transfers a heavy load from one place to another. And the director? He is responsible for ensuring that these goods are at the enterprise in general, so that they move on time, to the right place and so that each employee has a job and can get a salary.

And every year more and more of those who do not want to “work for an uncle” take a loan for “business development” and burn out. And close people, covering the debts of the would-be entrepreneur, take responsibility for the irresponsibility of the failed “businessman”.

Down with obscurantism

I have a proposal for you: leave alone energies, conspiracies, feng shui, visualizations and "glass ceilings". Start doing business with all (maybe not yet inherent) responsibility of you, the value of your work and personal dignity. I don’t promise millions at once, but a decent quality of life is quite achievable.

For those who dream of millions and billions, I recommend: learn to think, think outside the box, broaden your horizons. And then at the junction of different sciences and industries, you can find an idea, the embodiment of which will change the quality of life of millions of people and, as a result, will bring you the coveted amounts of money.
