In general, why do people prefer to solve their personal problems with the help of strangers and otherworldly methods? Are they really so sure that fairy tales will come true?

WHY GO TO THEM

So, science identifies five reasons giving rise to the demand for "magic".

1. You are reluctant to think and solve the problem on your own, but if someone else decided, that's another matter. So what, what kind of money, but "with a guarantee." In fact, people shift responsibility for their lives onto the shoulders of another person. Not an ordinary person, but a special one who knows a great secret. I paid and should, in theory, decide everything by itself. Didn't dare? All blame the sorcerer - they say, he deceived. And there are also such especially impressionable persons who pump themselves up in such situations: this is how bad everything is, even magic does not help.

2. Many go to fortune tellers and sorcerers to buy self-confidence. For example, a girl made up her mind and bewitched a guy from the next doorway. At least she thinks she has bewitched. And that's all - after that she already begins to behave with him somehow more confidently, to look differently, as at her own ("and where will he go now, bewitched!"). He looks with a challenge, with anticipation, boldly, showing interest. And the guy, by the way, notices all this, and begins to ask himself questions. First: "What is she?" Then: "Maybe try?" And so on. You look, they will succeed in something. But the girl will be absolutely sure that this is not her merits, but fortune-tellers. And the love spell "worked" purely at the behavioral level.

Here's a real story. One lady named Sveta told in her personal letter a terrible story about how she bewitched a guy in her youth. He was the best student of the course, handsome and athlete. She liked him very much, very much. And I was afraid to approach. And then her grandmother from the village advised her to sleep with him, and bring a sheet of blood from her lost innocence to her. Sveta gained resolve, invited the guy to her place, got him drunk and put him to bed. The next morning I went with a bloody sheet to my grandmother in the village. She muttered something. And what do you think? After that, the guy began to visit Sveta and soon they got married. It is clear to us that even without the grandmother and her fortune-telling, the guy would start visiting Sveta after a night of love. But for Sveta, this was a confirmation that the grandmother knows her business. By the way, then the couple began to quarrel very much and divorced. So Sveta believes that this is her punishment for going to her grandmother. They say that it is impossible to turn to the dark forces for help in solving love affairs, it will be worse. Well, at least I learned it, and that's okay.

3. People often seek help out of despair. In a state close to passion. They simply need psychological help: to speak out, to relieve their souls, to get advice. But going to a psychologist or to a priest in church for a conversation is for some reason more scary than going to a psychic.

People believe that something so inexplicable and extraordinary is happening to them that only a shaman can explain it, no less.

But it is in this state, when we start looking for answers to our questions, that we are the most suggestible. Tell a woman in a state of despair that if she wears only pink panties, then relations with men will improve, she will believe to such an extent that: a) will buy up all the pink panties in the area; b) the relationship will really improve, because a person has nothing stronger than faith: "I have completed my part of the program, now everything will certainly be fine."

In general, it is strange that it is easier for people to believe in spirits and all sorts of dubious theories of the world order than in proven teachings, for example, Freud, Perls, or at least in Orthodox postulates that have been working for more than one thousand years.

4. A person goes to a magician as to a judge, for confirmation of his innocence. When he feels that he is not right from any point of view, but he is afraid to admit it, he lacks the strength. Guilty before his wife, she cannot forgive him. And instead of apologizing and thereby letting go of his guilt, he covers it with the last words. But he knows to himself that he is wrong. It torments him. And then he goes to the place where he will receive a temporary "stroking on the head" for a fee. He will tell his version, he will be told: "Of course, you are right, it is she who is to blame for everything!" And if suddenly the wife comes, they will console her with the same words. Psychics have perfected the principle of "the client is always right".

5. I would like to relieve anxiety about the future. When a person does not control his present, he cannot understand himself, he is, of course, worried about the future. And he goes to the seers, so that they say and reassure, predicting something about the future. Like, love awaits there. Or there will be children. And it seems like there is something good there, you can live here and now. But this is a departure from reality. It seems like if there is something good there, you can live here and now. And even in quantum physics it is said that each person has an incalculable number of probable futures. We choose it here and now, in the present.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

But even if you personally did not go to any fortune tellers and psychics and are not going to, there is always a chance to meet with soothsayers. There are amateurs who simply assert themselves in this way, they say, look, I can predict the future. And the professionals just lure you to the reception. Hairdressers see a potential client in any person and are not averse to giving advice on his haircut. So are the clairvoyants. Once, when I was still working in a newspaper as a journalist, I was sent to write a report on the program "The Battle of Psychics". So one participant immediately blurted out that I had a celibacy crown. And then, like in a fairy tale: "I can help you, maiden,". The cost of removing the "crown" is within 30 thousand rubles. But it was not the sum that embarrassed me, but the fact that the seer managed not to see: I was already quite married to myself.

Ten minutes later, her colleague was already chattering nonstop about how I was about to marry a Belgian and leave. "Learn German urgently!" - she said. Surely so! German, that's good, of course, but since then not a single Belgian, just a person, although who has been to Belgium, has not been noticed in my circle.

GIVE THE PROGRAM!

To talk about this topic, I called my friend, psychotherapist Elena DOBROBABENKO. She told a case from her practice.

- Once a girl came to me: problems in relations with her husband, and from scratch. We are starting to work with her, there are seven meetings, and we are moving forward, but with great difficulty. Although in seven meetings they should have already decided everything. And suddenly she says that in her youth she was told: at the age of 30 she will have problems with her husband, and then she will drown. It was then that I understood why the therapy is so difficult. After all, people confuse cause and effect! Fortune-tellers do not predict the future, but create a program. I realized that my client started to follow the program of that fortune-teller! A little bit more and she would have drowned somewhere, just because this is her attitude. Using the techniques of psychotherapy, the program was removed. The problems with her husband disappeared by themselves. Many years have passed, the woman is alive and well.

When you go to someone, trying to find out your future, consider, voluntarily say: "Program me!" And you become a zombie. Impressionable people shouldn't even read horoscopes. Then they suffer. And you can damage and jinx it on one condition - if you believe in it at least a little. And if you do not believe, then you cannot be jinxed!

THE SAME BUT WITH A TRAFFIC OF MYSTIC

But after all, someone's predictions come true, problems in their personal life are solved after a visit to psychics. It turns out that there is something in this?

- I won't tell you about everyone, but here is an interesting story for you, which, in my opinion, explains something, - says Elena. - I have an acquaintance who was once my teacher, a candidate of psychological sciences. He went to psychics six years ago. Gives the same recommendations that he gave earlier when he was a psychologist, but the surroundings are different. For example, a woman comes and asks that her husband leave his mistress and love her again. He advises to spend the night with his parents once, and be sure from Thursday to Friday, so that her energy leaves the apartment, reborn and so on.
