There are many books and courses that teach specific techniques. But we always have our own “teacher” “at hand” -

our dreams. The content of the unconscious is brought into reality through dreams. And in observation, "contemplation" of dreams, and is a long preparation of the mind to be able to understand the language of the unconscious. To learn to hear the voice of your intuition.

The advantage of such "observation" is that it does not give us a one-time effect, but is accumulated in us by strength and knowledge.

And in order to develop this ability in oneself, it is not enough just to do something once, and then sit down and wait for the gift in the form of intuition. No, it doesn't happen overnight.

You cannot decide to know a new foreign language tonight and start speaking it that night. No matter how much you want it.

You can't eat a diet salad instead of a piece of cake and expect to lose weight in the evening. It doesn't work that way. In either case, you need to make both language learning and a new diet a part of your every day and just a way of life.

In the same way, the study of the language of the unconscious takes place in daily systematic contact with the manifestation of the unconscious - dreams.

In this case, communication with your own unconscious becomes a kind of daily ritual. A practice that we approach responsibly and consciously.

Jung believed that dreams can contain important messages, philosophical ideas, illusions, wild fantasies, memories, plans, irrational experiences, and even telepathic insights (Wikipedia).

And Jung's student Maria Louise von Franz in her book The Way of Dreaming said the following: “Dreams are useful if you remember them, trying to figure out what games you are playing with yourself. And you can already do something about it”.

You've probably heard stories about discoveries made in dreams - Dmitry Mendeleev and the periodic table of chemical elements, Friedrich Kekulé and the formula of benzene, Niels Bohr and the structure of the atom, Albert Einstein and the idea of the theory of relativity.

The great minds of the past received in their dreams "access" to the solution of the most difficult scientific problems and problems. And even if you do not believe in the idea of the collective unconscious as a kind of giant repository of global experience, you probably understand that in a dream, in some amazing way, a person can, if not even make a discovery for all mankind, then at least acquire the knowledge necessary in his own life., inner harmony or the solution to long-standing tormenting questions at the level of … intuition.

How can we access these deep resources?

In order to learn to understand the language of the unconscious, it seems to me that it is worth starting to master two very important practices. But it makes sense to do this on a regular basis, introducing them to the level of habit, to the level of lifestyle.

First practice:

Keeping a dream diary

Create a special notebook and write down your dreams in it every morning. It doesn't matter if you remember them or not - the main thing is to do it regularly. Even if you don’t remember the content of the dream, just write “I don’t remember anything”. If the dream has escaped, but some vague feeling remains, write it down. If you remember only one detail, write it down. Write everything down - layered dreams and seemingly ridiculous passages. It is the ritual that is important. Your daily, paper-based contact with the content of the unconscious is important. Why on paper? Because neurophysiologists have proven that it is “handwriting” that synchronizes the work of the hemispheres - it is important to write, and not to type on the keyboard. In addition, the very process of “sounding” images of sleep, “converting” subtle, and sometimes very shaky, sensations into a single story that has a certain plot, is also a process of coordinated work of the cerebral hemispheres. Which, in turn, at least develops creativity and the ability to think outside the box (or, as Edward De Bono defined it, “laterally”).

You don't have to try to "decode" your dreams. Just write them down. You do not need to evaluate them in any way, much less criticize them. Just keep a dream diary, just like you kept a weather diary at school. The very fact of observing dreams is important. And, figuratively speaking, sooner or later your unconscious will begin to trust you, having received such an opportunity to safely “speak out”.

Second practice:

Body awareness

  • First, notice how sleep is echoing in your body. How does your body feel? Are you cold? Hot? A lump in your throat or a feeling as if there is a weight on your shoulders? Record all feelings in a dream journal. Over time, you will find that dreams are connected to you, including bodily. You will find that you are not only dreaming “figuratively”. But also “bodily”. And it will be your own unique language of the unconscious.
  • Secondly, set an alarm for 2-3 arbitrary times of the day. And every time after the alarm clock rings, try the practice of “turning on”: focus on the sensations, “scan” your body mentally and ask yourself - what am I thinking about? what do I see? what I feel? what position am I in?

This practice will allow you to more sensitively listen to your body, to how your feelings and emotions are “embodied” in your body. Or how the body reacts to this or that thought. In the end, intuition does not speak verbally to us, and we can check the truth of its voice only by bodily sensations. If the body responds to your spontaneous decision or choice with calmness, warmth and lightness, then it is she - intuition …

If you practice these two simple things regularly, then you yourself will be surprised at how your life will change. You will feel this “synchronization” from the inside - and for everyone it will be called by its own name - harmony with oneself and the world, reducing stress, solving long-standing internal problems, “unraveling” and “untie the knots”, special efficiency and creative insights. And most importantly, you will begin to hear yourself - your feelings, your mind. Your intuition.
